Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

Deploy and manage blockchain nodes across 70+ protocols, search docs, request testnet funds.

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

  • Connection: Runs in the cloud
  • Transport: Streamable HTTP

What it can do

Tool names and descriptions exactly as the server reported them on Nov 7, 2026. The maker wrote them, not us; we show them as plain text.

  • get_organization

    Get organization name and ID.

  • get_deployment_options

List blockchain/cloud/network combinations for node deployment. Call before create_node to get valid blockchain and cloud IDs.

  • list_projects

List all projects. Projects are containers for nodes.

  • create_project

    Create a new project.

  • list_nodes

List nodes with status and connection endpoints.

  • get_node

Get a node's full details including endpoints and cloud info.

  • create_node

Deploy a new blockchain node. Call get_deployment_options first for valid IDs. Use a Global option (node_tier "Global") from get_deployment_options.

  • get_project

    Get project details.

  • update_project

Update a project's name or description.

  • delete_project

    Delete a project (irreversible).

  • update_node

    Rename a node.

  • delete_node

    Delete a node (irreversible).

  • list_node_access_rules

List a node's access rules (IP and Origin allowlists, Global nodes only). With no active rules, the node accepts requests from any IP and origin. If correctly configured rules still return 403, that's a support case: offer contact_chainstack.

  • create_node_access_rule

Add an IP or Origin allowlist rule to a Global node. New rules are deactivated and do nothing until activated. Active IP rules limit which client IPs can call the node; active origin rules limit which Origin headers it accepts. With both kinds active, a request must pass both. Ev

  • update_node_access_rule

Change an access rule's value, or activate or deactivate it. A rule's type can't change; delete it and create a new one. Before activating, confirm with the user that the IP rules cover every IP that calls the node. Activating the first origin rule blocks every request without an

  • delete_node_access_rule

Delete an access rule from a node (irreversible). Deleting an active rule changes who can reach the node; the result says what's enforced afterwards. With no active rules left, the node accepts requests from any IP and origin.

  • set_node_access_rules_status

Activate or deactivate every access rule on a node at once. Activating enforces every rule within about 10 seconds: active IP rules limit which IPs can call the node, active origin rules limit which Origin headers it accepts, and a request must pass both kinds. Others get HTTP 40

  • search_docs

Search Chainstack docs — blockchain RPC methods, node infrastructure, Web3 APIs, deployment guides, and code examples.

  • get_doc_page

Get the full content of a Chainstack documentation page. Use after search_docs to fetch the complete page when a snippet isn't enough.

  • get_platform_status

Check platform status, active incidents, and maintenances.

  • contact_chainstack

Submit a message to Chainstack's sales and support team. Use when the user wants to ask about pricing, get a custom quote, request a plan upgrade, request node customizations (Enterprise), report a problem, or reach Chainstack for any reason. Posts to the same contact form as cha

  • request_testnet_funds

Top up a testnet address from Chainstack's faucet. The faucet does not send a fixed amount — it tops the address up to the per-network maximum (e.g. 0.5 ETH for sepolia). If the address already sits above the cap, the call fails with an insufficient-balance error. Describe the be

  • get_chainstack_pricing

Fetch Chainstack's public pricing and return a normalized snapshot. Use this to answer pricing questions before quoting the user: plan fit, overage math, per-chain dedicated-node costs, and add-on pricing (Unlimited Node flat-fee tiers, Yellowstone gRPC streams, Warp transactions

Common questions

Is Chainstack safe?

It passed 3 of 3 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

You need to fill in: Authorization

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.12.0) reached the registry 12 days ago.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?

In the same category: Context7, Codebase Memory, Exa

Chainstack MCP server

The Chainstack MCP server gives AI agents direct access to the Chainstack platform — deploy blockchain nodes, search documentation, and check platform status from any coding environment.

Live at [`mcp.chainstack.com`](https://mcp.chainstack.com)

Quick start

Type this into any AI agent:

get mcp.chainstack.com

The agent will fetch the onboarding page and walk you through setup. Works with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, Antigravity, Claude.ai, and ChatGPT.

Tools

No API key needed:

  • search_docs — search Chainstack documentation
  • get_doc_page — fetch full doc page content
  • get_platform_status — check platform status and incidents
  • contact_chainstack — send a message to Chainstack (sales, support, or general questions)
  • get_chainstack_pricing — live pricing snapshot: plan tiers, feature matrix, add-ons, and the per-chain dedicated-node catalog

API key required (get one here):

  • get_organization, list_projects, create_project, get_project, update_project, delete_project
  • list_nodes, get_node, create_node, update_node, delete_node, get_deployment_options
  • list_node_access_rules, create_node_access_rule, update_node_access_rule, delete_node_access_rule, set_node_access_rules_status — restrict a Global Node to allowed IP addresses or origins
  • request_testnet_funds — top up a testnet address from the Chainstack faucet (12 networks across EVM, Solana, and TON)

Two ways to use

Option 1: Install as a skill (lean context)

Cross-agent, via the skills CLI — it auto-detects your installed agent (50+ supported, including Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, Antigravity, GitHub Copilot, Pi, and OpenCode):

npx skills add chainstacklabs/mcp-server

This installs the bundled skills/chainstack skill.

Option 2: Register as an MCP server

VS Code — Chainstack is in the GitHub MCP Registry, so VS Code installs it for you. Two ways:

  • From inside VS Code — open the Extensions view (⇧⌘X / Ctrl+Shift+X), search @mcp chainstack, and click Install. Right-click and choose Install in Workspace to write .vscode/mcp.json instead of your user profile.
  • From the registry — open the Chainstack entry and click Install > Install in VS Code.

Neither needs an API key, which covers every tool that works unauthenticated.

Anywhere else:

claude mcp add --transport http chainstack https://mcp.chainstack.com/mcp -s user

See full setup guide for all agents.

MCP registries

Listed in both public registries as com.chainstack/chainstack:

  • GitHub MCP Registry — the catalog VS Code surfaces in its Extensions view, with one-click install
  • MCP Registry — the official registry that MCP clients read from
curl "https://registry.modelcontextprotocol.io/v0.1/servers?search=com.chainstack/chainstack&version=latest"

server.json is the manifest. Its version field is a placeholder — the publish workflow derives the real value from the live server card at mcp.chainstack.com, which renders it from the deployed chart, so the registry entry cannot drift from what is actually running. Query the registry, not this file, to see what is published.
