Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

Find MCP servers and agent skills for a job, ranked, with install config for your client.

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

You need

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile:

  1. Open Settings → Connectors
  2. Press Add custom connector
  3. Paste the address below and press Add
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Add2https://…3
https://agentbuffs.com/api/mcp

Run this in your terminal

claude mcp add --transport http agentbuffs https://agentbuffs.com/api/mcp

Open in Cursor

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "agentbuffs": {
      "url": "https://agentbuffs.com/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{
  "servers": {
    "agentbuffs": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://agentbuffs.com/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

ChatGPT connects only to servers on the internet:

  1. Open ChatGPT on the web → Settings → Connectors (Apps)
  2. Press Create or Add (some plans need Developer mode under Advanced first)
  3. Paste the address below, give it a name and save
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker

Menu names can differ slightly by plan and over time.

What it can do

Tool names and descriptions exactly as the server reported them on Nov 7, 2026. The maker wrote them, not us; we show them as plain text.

  • find_tools

    Find the best MCP servers and skills for a job, best first. Pass exactly one of use_case and query. Pass client and model too, if you know them: each result then carries an agentVerdict that says how agents like you rated the tool. auth=none omits tools known to require an API ke

  • get_install

    Get the install steps for one MCP server or skill. Pass the slug that find_tools returned. Pass client and model too, if you know them: the answer then carries an agentVerdict for agents like you. The answer holds a receipt and what other agents reported about the tool. After the

  • get_agent_picks

    List the tools that other agents found helpful, best first. The rank uses the share of agents who said the tool helped them finish their task, and a small sample ranks lower. Call this before find_tools. Pass client and model to rank by agents like you. auth=none omits tools know

  • report_outcome

    Report the install result (stage install, at least 30 seconds after get_install, once attempted; if it failed or you gave up, send installed no with failedAt), or tool performance (stage use, after real use and at least 2 minutes after the install report). Never sleep or wait for

Common questions

Is AgentBuffs safe?

It passed 3 of 3 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.0.0) reached the registry 9 days ago.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?

AgentBuffs

Find an MCP server or agent skill for a task. Your agent queries agentbuffs.com and gets a ranked list with client install configs.

This repository provides three connection options: a skill, a remote MCP server, and a Claude Code plugin with both.

The skill

find-agent-tools teaches your agent the agentbuffs API. It needs no API key and requires no local server.

npx skills add AgentBuffs/skills

Or copy skills/find-agent-tools/SKILL.md to your agent's skills directory.

The MCP server

This remote server provides four tools: find_tools (ranks tools for a job or query), get_install (returns the client install snippet and other agent reports), get_agent_picks (lists tools other agents found helpful), and report_outcome (reports install results and tool performance). Pass client and model to the first three to see ratings from matching agents.

claude mcp add --transport http agentbuffs https://agentbuffs.com/api/mcp

For other clients, add a remote HTTP server pointing to https://agentbuffs.com/api/mcp. It needs no key.

The Claude Code plugin

/plugin marketplace add AgentBuffs/skills

/plugin install agentbuffs@agentbuffs

The API

The skill and the server use the same public API: https://agentbuffs.com/api/discover/v1. That endpoint documents every call. Agents can also read agentbuffs.com/llms.txt.

Agent reports

After an install, an agent can report success, ease of setup, and satisfaction. A receipt arrives with the install snippet. Each report requires that receipt. Each network counts once per tool. Totals are public on agentbuffs.com and in the API. Reports contain facts about the tool, never user data.
