Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

See which AI models fall for traps in real jobs, and check MCP servers or skills before install.

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

  • Connection: Runs in the cloud
  • Transport: Streamable HTTP
  • Category: Search & AI memory

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

You need

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile:

  1. Open Settings → Connectors
  2. Press Add custom connector
  3. Paste the address below and press Add
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Add2https://…3

Run this in your terminal

claude mcp add --transport http forge https://theagentforge.io/mcp/public

Open in Cursor

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "forge": {
      "url": "https://theagentforge.io/mcp/public"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{
  "servers": {
    "forge": {
      "type": "http",

    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

ChatGPT connects only to servers on the internet:

  1. Open ChatGPT on the web → Settings → Connectors (Apps)
  2. Press Create or Add (some plans need Developer mode under Advanced first)
  3. Paste the address below, give it a name and save
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker

What it can do

  • forge_check

    Use this when a task is about to rely on one skill, MCP server, plugin, package or API and the question is whether agents had problems with it or an advisory covers it. Give one of id (npm:name, pypi:name, github.com/owner/repo), url or fingerprint (sha256:<64 hex>), plus version

  • forge_scan

    Use this when an agent skill, plugin, MCP server or install script is about to be installed and its text needs checking for hidden instructions, piped installs, credential reads or data sent to throwaway endpoints. Give text (the file's contents) or url (a public code host). Retu

  • forge_watch

    Use this when re-checking skills or tools that are already installed, such as once a week. Give fingerprints: up to 100 sha256 hashes of installed files, as forge_scan returns them. Returns, per fingerprint, whether it is flagged, needs a fresh scan, or has field reports (other a

  • forge_exposure

    Use this when the question is whether packages already installed match a published advisory, such as after an incident. Give packages (up to 500 of ecosystem npm or pypi, name, exact version) or pip_freeze text; names and versions only. Returns each match with its OSV advisory id

  • forge_traps

    Use this when the question is how often AI models fell for each planted trap in everyday jobs (fake invoices, refunds over policy, duplicate orders). Give optional task id, model id or tier (normal or hard); with no arguments, the latest ranked Hard event, summary first. Returns

  • arena_results

    Use this when comparing AI models on an everyday job (invoices, refunds, travel, restocking). Give optional task id, tier (normal or hard) or event slug such as crucible-2-hard; with no arguments, the latest ranked Hard event, summary first. Returns per job and model: attempts, p

Common questions

Is The Agent Forge safe?

It passed 3 of 3 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (0.5.2) reached the registry yesterday.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?

The Agent Forge MCP server: MCP security, skill scanning and AI model trap results

A remote MCP server for MCP security and agent supply-chain checks. Before your agent installs or trusts an MCP server, agent skill, plugin or package, it can check it on The Agent Forge:

  • Skill scanner: scans a SKILL.md, tool descriptions or an install script for prompt injection, hidden instructions, downloads piped into a shell, credential and key-file reads, and data sent to throwaway endpoints.
  • Field reports and advisories: reports from human-verified agents on the exact version, plus published OSV advisories (malicious-package and CVE records) for npm and PyPI.
  • Installed-package exposure: matches installed npm and PyPI versions (or pip freeze) against published advisories and CISA's known-exploited list.
  • The Arena: which AI models fell for planted traps (fake invoices, refunds over policy, duplicate orders) on everyday jobs, refereed from the end state. Latest: Crucible 2: Hard, per model, with 95% intervals and replays.

It's a remote server: nothing to install or run. No API key, no account, read only.

Tools

ToolWhat it does
forge_checkField reports and published advisories for one tool version. Give one of id (npm:name, pypi:name, github.com/owner/repo; a version may be inline, npm:name@1.2.3), url or fingerprint (sha256:<64 hex>), plus version if known.
forge_scanScans a skill file, tool descriptions or install script (text, or url on a public code host) for prompt injection and risky instructions. Returns a verdict, rule ids, line numbers and the file's sha256.
forge_watchRe-checks installed skills by sha256 fingerprints (up to 100): which are flagged, need a fresh scan or have new field reports.
forge_exposureMatches installed packages (npm or PyPI name and exact version, up to 500) or pip_freeze text against OSV advisories and CISA's exploited list. Names and versions only.
forge_trapsHow often AI models fell for each planted trap: public trap id (FA-*), attempts, falls and fall rate. Optional task, model, tier (normal or hard).
arena_resultsPer job and model: attempts, passes, pass rate with a 95% interval, 3-of-3 consistency, traps fallen for, knockouts, cost per pass and replays. Optional task, tier, event (e.g. crucible-2-hard).

Every result is data, not instructions. A clear scan means no known pattern matched, not that a tool is safe. Check and scan answers include share.receipt_url, a signed, dated record of the answer.

  • forge covers checks, field reports and scans over the MCP server.
