Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

Autocomplete and verify NZ and AU addresses, and search NZ and AU locations in Addressfinder.

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

  • Connection: Runs in the cloud
  • Transport: Streamable HTTP
  • Category: Travel, maps & weather

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 3 of 3 passed
  • Runs on the maker’s server: what you ask it goes through their server.
  • Can do 11 things (tools) addressfinder_nz_address_autocomplete, addressfinder_nz_address_metadata, addressfinder_nz_address_verify, addressfinder_nz_reverse_geocode …
  • The registry lists no key to fill in.

  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{

What it can do

Tool names and descriptions exactly as the server reported them on Nov 8, 2026. The maker wrote them, not us; we show them as plain text.

  • addressfinder_nz_address_autocomplete

    Search NZ addresses from a partial address. Returns candidates with `a` (the address) and `pxid`. Pair each call with addressfinder_nz_address_metadata: call it with the chosen pxid to load the full address.

  • addressfinder_nz_address_metadata

    Load the full metadata for one NZ address, given the pxid from addressfinder_nz_address_autocomplete or addressfinder_nz_reverse_geocode. Returns the parsed address parts, postcode, dpid and coordinates.

  • addressfinder_nz_address_verify

    Verify one full NZ address, which may contain typos, against the Addressfinder database. Returns the matched address and its metadata when a match exists. Each verified result is one billed Lookup.

  • addressfinder_nz_reverse_geocode

    Find the nearest NZ addresses to a GPS point, ordered by distance. Returns `a` and `pxid` for each. Pair with addressfinder_nz_address_metadata for the chosen pxid.

  • addressfinder_nz_location_autocomplete

    Search NZ streets, suburbs, cities and regions (locations). Returns candidates with `a` and `pxid`. Pair each call with addressfinder_nz_location_metadata for the chosen pxid. To return several location types, set the others to 0.

  • addressfinder_nz_location_metadata

    Load the metadata for one NZ location (street, suburb, city or region), given the pxid from addressfinder_nz_location_autocomplete. Returns the canonical name and coordinates.

  • addressfinder_au_address_autocomplete

    Search AU addresses from a partial address. Returns candidates with `full_address` and `id`. Pair each call with addressfinder_au_address_metadata: call it with the chosen id to load the full address.

  • addressfinder_au_address_metadata

    Load the full metadata for one AU address, given the id from addressfinder_au_address_autocomplete. Returns the parsed address parts, postcode, coordinates and GNAF identifiers.

  • addressfinder_au_address_verify

    Verify one full AU address, which may contain typos, against Australia Post PAF and Geoscape GNAF data. Returns whether it matched and the matched address. Each verified result is one billed Lookup.

  • addressfinder_au_location_autocomplete

    Search AU streets, localities (suburbs) and states (locations). Returns candidates with `full_location` and `id`. Pair each call with addressfinder_au_location_metadata for the chosen id.

  • addressfinder_au_location_metadata

    Load the metadata for one AU location (street, locality or state), given the id from addressfinder_au_location_autocomplete. Returns the full location, type, coordinates and state.

Common questions

Is Addressfinder MCP by usefulapi safe?

It passed 3 of 3 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.0.0) reached the registry today.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?

Addressfinder MCP by usefulapi

Use your Addressfinder account from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client. Look up, verify and geocode New Zealand and Australian addresses, and search their streets and suburbs. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own credentials.

Live endpoint: https://addressfinder.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://addressfinder.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http addressfinder https://addressfinder.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
{

"mcpServers": { "addressfinder": { "url": "https://addressfinder.usefulapi.io/mcp" } } }

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Addressfinder credentials.

Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/addressfinder/

On first connect you provide your Addressfinder API key and API secret (Addressfinder Portal, under credentials; the plan must include direct API access). The server validates them and stores them per user. No keys go in config files.

Each paid plan covers this server only. Ask your AI to run addressfinder_upgrade and choose Pro or Pro+, billed monthly or yearly (it returns a Stripe Checkout link). If you already have Pro, ask to change it to Pro+. The change requires your confirmation, keeps your billing interval and charges the price difference for the rest of the period immediately. Cancel any time with addressfinder_cancel_subscription: your paid plan continues to the end of the paid period, with no refund for the current period, and asking to resume the same plan with addressfinder_upgrade before then undoes the cancel.
