Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

Query records, run reports and formulas, and insert or update records in Quickbase.

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 3 of 3 passed
  • Runs on the maker’s server: what you ask it goes through their server.
  • Can do 14 things (tools) quickbase_get_app, quickbase_get_app_roles, quickbase_list_tables, quickbase_get_table …
  • The registry lists no key to fill in.

You need

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile:

  1. Open Settings → Connectors
  2. Press Add custom connector
  3. Paste the address below and press Add
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Add2https://…3
https://quickbase.usefulapi.io/mcp

Run this in your terminal

claude mcp add --transport http quickbase https://quickbase.usefulapi.io/mcp

Open in Cursor

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "quickbase": {
      "url": "https://quickbase.usefulapi.io/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{
  "servers": {
    "quickbase": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://quickbase.usefulapi.io/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

ChatGPT connects only to servers on the internet:

  1. Open ChatGPT on the web → Settings → Connectors (Apps)
  2. Press Create or Add (some plans need Developer mode under Advanced first)
  3. Paste the address below, give it a name and save
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker

These settings are generated from the maker’s registry entry. If the README says otherwise, follow the README.

What it can do

Tool names and descriptions exactly as the server reported them on Nov 6, 2026. The maker wrote them, not us; we show them as plain text.

  • quickbase_get_app

    Get the main properties of a Quickbase app, including its application variables. Quickbase API: GET /apps/{appId}.

  • quickbase_get_app_roles

    List the roles of a Quickbase app. Needs admin access to the app. Quickbase API: GET /apps/{appId}/roles.

  • quickbase_list_tables

    List all tables in a Quickbase app, with their ids, names and record names. Good first call to find table ids. Quickbase API: GET /tables?appId=.

  • quickbase_get_table

    Get the properties of one table in a Quickbase app. Quickbase API: GET /tables/{tableId}?appId=.

  • quickbase_list_table_relationships

    List the parent-child relationships of a table, with their definitions. Quickbase API: GET /tables/{tableId}/relationships.

  • quickbase_list_fields

    List all fields of a table with their ids, labels, types and properties. Use the field ids in record queries. Quickbase API: GET /fields?tableId=.

  • quickbase_get_field

    Get one field of a table by its field id, including type-specific properties. Quickbase API: GET /fields/{fieldId}?tableId=.

  • quickbase_list_reports

    List the reports of a table (their ids, names and types). Quickbase API: GET /reports?tableId=.

  • quickbase_get_report

    Get the definition of one report of a table. Quickbase API: GET /reports/{reportId}?tableId=.

  • quickbase_run_report

    Run a saved report and return its data (records for table reports, rows for summary reports). Quickbase pages the result: pass skip and top to read more. Quickbase API: POST /reports/{reportId}/run?tableId=.

  • quickbase_query_records

    Query records of a table with a Quickbase query (where clause, sort, group, select fields). Quickbase pages the result: pass skip and top to read more. Quickbase API: POST /records/query. Example where: {6.EX.'Open'}.

  • quickbase_run_formula

    Evaluate a Quickbase formula against a table (optionally for one record) and return the value. Nothing is saved. Quickbase API: POST /formula/run.

  • quickbase_get_users

    Look up users of the account by email, or list the users of the account. Returns a nextPageToken when more pages exist. Quickbase API: POST /users.

  • quickbase_upsert_records

Common questions

Is Quickbase MCP by usefulapi safe?

It passed 3 of 3 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.2.4) reached the registry today.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?

Quickbase MCP by usefulapi

Use your Quickbase account from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client. Query records, run reports and formulas, and insert or update records. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own credentials.

Live endpoint: https://quickbase.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://quickbase.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http quickbase https://quickbase.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
{

"mcpServers": { "quickbase": { "url": "https://quickbase.usefulapi.io/mcp" } } }

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Quickbase credentials.

Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/quickbase/

On first connect you provide your Quickbase realm (the part before .quickbase.com) and a Quickbase user token, which you create in your Quickbase user settings. The server validates them and stores them per user. No keys go in config files.
