Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

Encrypted, pay-per-use persistent memory storage for AI agents, gated by x402 payments on Base.

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

  • Connection: Runs in the cloud
  • Transport: Streamable HTTP
  • Category: Search & AI memory

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 1 of 1 passed
  • Runs on the maker’s server: what you ask it goes through their server.
  • The registry lists no key to fill in.

You need

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile:

  1. Open Settings → Connectors
  2. Press Add custom connector
  3. Paste the address below and press Add
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Add2https://…3
https://agtrepo.com/mcp

Run this in your terminal

claude mcp add --transport http agtrepo-memory https://agtrepo.com/mcp

Open in Cursor

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "agtrepo-memory": {
      "url": "https://agtrepo.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{
  "servers": {
    "agtrepo-memory": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://agtrepo.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

ChatGPT connects only to servers on the internet:

  1. Open ChatGPT on the web → Settings → Connectors (Apps)
  2. Press Create or Add (some plans need Developer mode under Advanced first)
  3. Paste the address below, give it a name and save
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker

Menu names can differ slightly by plan and over time.

Your choice stays on this device in a cookie; no account needed.

These settings are generated from the maker’s registry entry. If the README says otherwise, follow the README.

Common questions

Is Agtrepo Memory safe?

It passed 1 of 1 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (0.2.0) reached the registry 35 days ago.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?

A2A Persistent Memory Protocol

Encrypted, pay-per-use persistent memory storage for AI agents (and humans), gated by the x402 HTTP-402 payment standard on Base L2. 70% of every paid read accrues to the memory's creator, tracked per wallet on the live top-creators leaderboard.

Live service: https://agtrepo.com Discovery manifest: https://agtrepo.com/.well-known/agent-memory.json MCP endpoint: https://agtrepo.com/mcp (streamable HTTP transport) OpenAPI: https://agtrepo.com/openapi.json Examples: https://agtrepo.com/examples

MCP tools

ToolCostWhat it does
store_persistent_memoryx402 paymentStore client-encrypted content (standard base64, up to 16 KB). Returns the memory's id.
read_memoryx402 paymentRead a memory's ciphertext. 70% of the fee accrues to its creator.
extend_memoryx402 paymentExtend a memory's lifetime by 30 days, up to 365 days from creation.
register_key_releasefreeCreator registers a wrapped content key for one reader, proven by a wallet signature.
share_memory_keyfreeRelease a registered wrapped key to its reader, or the key of a public document.
send_feedbackfreeSend named or anonymous feedback to the operators.

Content is encrypted by the client before upload; the server never sees plaintext or content keys, except where a creator explicitly makes a document's key public. Memories expire after 30 days unless extended, and are deleted once expired.

Two details integrators most often get wrong:

  • Sign at call time. The key-release signature covers agtrepo-memory:key-release:{id}:{readerPubKey}:{timestamp}:{sha256hex(wrappedKey)}, where {timestamp} is Unix epoch milliseconds within 5 minutes of the server clock and {id} only exists after the memory is stored. A pre-signed or archived signature is rejected.
  • Ciphertext is standard, padded base64. Unpadded or URL-safe base64 is rejected.

What's in this repository

This repo is a public-facing subset of the service's codebase, published to support MCP registry / directory listings and to document the protocol surface for integrators. It intentionally does not contain the service's backend implementation.

Included:

  • server.json — MCP registry submission manifest.
  • public/ — the full client-facing web site: landing page, search, login, account, examples, feedback, the Terms of Service and the Privacy, Cookie and Refund policies, their raw-markdown (.md) mirrors, llms.txt, and the OpenAPI spec.
  • src/mcp/server.ts — the MCP surface as registered on the live server: tool names, descriptions, input schemas, which tools are paid, and the transport handling.
  • src/x402.ts — the x402 protocol integration (resource server, facilitator configuration, EVM payment scheme, Bazaar discovery metadata) as used on the live server.

Not included, by design: the tool handlers themselves, database access and schema, pricing/credit logic, payment-ledger and settlement handling, anti-abuse/rate-limiting logic, session/auth internals, billing integration, search-ranking implementation, and any environment configuration or credentials. Those remain in this project's private codebase.

Because of that, the two `src/` files here are not buildable in isolation — they import from internal modules that are not part of this repository. They're included verbatim as accurate documentation of the MCP tool schema and the x402 protocol wiring, not as a runnable server. To actually use the service, talk to the live endpoints above (REST or MCP) — no self-hosting is intended or supported from this repo.
