Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

Market data, mention counts and AI text detection in one server. Pick services when you connect.

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 3 of 3 passed
  • Runs on the maker’s server: what you ask it goes through their server.
  • The registry lists no key to fill in.

You need

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile:

  1. Open Settings → Connectors
  2. Press Add custom connector
  3. Paste the address below and press Add
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Add2https://…3
https://api.assetfeed.com/mcp

Run this in your terminal

claude mcp add --transport http market-data https://api.assetfeed.com/mcp

Open in Cursor

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "market-data": {
      "url": "https://api.assetfeed.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{
  "servers": {
    "market-data": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://api.assetfeed.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

ChatGPT connects only to servers on the internet:

  1. Open ChatGPT on the web → Settings → Connectors (Apps)
  2. Press Create or Add (some plans need Developer mode under Advanced first)
  3. Paste the address below, give it a name and save
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Create2https://…3
https://api.assetfeed.com/mcp

Menu names can differ slightly by plan and over time.

Your choice stays on this device in a cookie; no account needed.

These settings are generated from the maker’s registry entry. If the README says otherwise, follow the README.

What it can do

The server asks you to sign in before it lists its tools.

Common questions

Is AssetFeed safe?

It passed 3 of 3 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.4.1) reached the registry 2 days ago.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?

AssetFeed MCP server

One hosted (remote) MCP server from AssetFeed at https://api.assetfeed.com/mcp. There is nothing to install: point your MCP client at the URL and sign in. When you sign in, you choose which AssetFeed services your account uses. The choice covers every connection and API key on the account, and you can change it later on assetfeed.com/api-keys. Sign in with OAuth or use an API key. Every plan can connect.

ServiceTools
Market data18 read-only tools, 5 prompts
AI text detectiondetect_ai_text, detect_ai_url

New services are added to the same server, so the URL stays the same.

This repository holds the public listing metadata (server.json for the MCP Registry) and setup notes. The server code is not open source.

Market data

Mention counts, asset recaps and market snapshots for crypto, stocks, ETFs, forex and commodities in Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor.

The market data service gives your AI app read-only access to how often assets come up in tracked sources, with context around it. Ask for mention counts over 7 and 30 days, trending assets, related companies and products, extracted events such as listings or lawsuits, and recap articles for a single asset. Search and compare tools cover crypto, stocks, ETFs, forex pairs and commodities, and five built-in prompts walk through briefs, comparisons, event digests, sector scans, and signals and risk flags. For crypto there is also a daily market recap for past days. Each tool call uses AssetFeed credits. Educational data, not financial advice.

AI text detection

Check an English text or a page address for AI-written passages from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor. The result is an estimate, not proof.

detect_ai_text takes pasted text and shows how much of it reads as AI-written, passage by passage. detect_ai_url fetches a public web page by its address and checks the text it finds. Ask in plain language, for example "Is this draft written by AI?", and your assistant calls the tool for you. It works on English text of about 50 to 30,000 words; other languages and very short texts are not checked. No detector is right every time, and formal or heavily edited human writing can be flagged, so read the marked passages yourself. Each tool call uses AssetFeed credits.

Connect

Claude (web, desktop, mobile, Claude Code): open assetfeed.com/mcp and use the Claude one-click setup, or add the server URL as a custom connector and sign in with your AssetFeed account. Tick the services you want on the sign-in screen; this sets them for your whole account.

ChatGPT (web): Plugins → + → Add custom MCP server, name it AssetFeed, paste the server URL, choose OAuth and sign in with your AssetFeed account. Works on Business, Enterprise and Edu plans, and Pro with read-only access. An admin may need to allow the server first. It can't be added in the phone app.

Cursor and VS Code: one-click setup is on assetfeed.com/mcp. Other clients without sign-in can use an API key from assetfeed.com/api-keys sent as a Bearer header. The key uses the services chosen for your account on the same page:

{

"mcpServers": { "assetfeed": { "url": "https://api.assetfeed.com/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" } } } }

After you change the services, reconnect your app so it reloads the tool list.
