  • find_nocom_portals

Find historical NoCom portal groups near native Minecraft coordinates. Groups join face-adjacent observed portal blocks; they are not simultaneous active portals or verified Nether connections. Only Overworld portal observations exist; Nether/End return coverage=not_captured. Rad

  • get_nocom_daily_hits

Get exact daily NoCom hit counts over an inclusive UTC date range. Up to 366 days globally, or 31 days for a native-block rectangle using all four min/max coordinates. Resolve named locations with get_location first. A rectangle includes intersecting 16x16 chunks, not precise pla

  • search_nocom_sign_history

Search historical NoCom sign text one captured version at a time. Prefer this to combined-text search for exact history. match=phrase, allWords or word (one whole word/username). Optional inclusive UTC dates filter actual read timestamps, not continuous presence. Optional native

  • get_world_find_history

Read public capture history at one native dimension/category/XYZ position, including sources outside the previous search filter. Up to 50 observations per page; follow nextOffset. detailsJson contains saved block data or deferred inventory metadata. Use an observation's id with g

  • find_nocom_rare_blocks

Query the complete released NoCom rare-block extraction: 419 Overworld bedrock positions above Y4 and 39 End portal frame positions. Frames may be ordinary stronghold frames; these are blocks, not structures or full portals. Supply neither x/z to discover all records, or both for

  • search_nocom_signs

Search captured historical NoCom sign text. Text is a case-insensitive literal substring, so Mu also matches Maximus. For whole-word matching use search_world_find with sources=[nocom] and match=word. Supply text (2..100 literal characters) for release-wide search, x and z for ne

  • research_nocom_area

Preferred entry point for 'what does NoCom know about this area?'. For nearby catalog locations, groups and preservation without NoCom evidence use research_area. Supply exactly one origin: location_name (exact, case-insensitive), location_id, or native x/z. Ambiguous names retur

  • find_nocom_daily_chunks

List observed NoCom chunks and exact counts for one UTC day inside a native-block rectangle no larger than 16384x16384 blocks. Max 1000 rows, default 100. Follow nextCursor with unchanged date/dimension/bounds; use the linked gzip CSV for a complete dimension/day export. Chunk co

  • search_world_find

Search signs, storage, rare blocks, mobs, map art, banners, item frames and other saved objects. Uses the same filters as GET /api/find, combining block captures at one dimension/category/XYZ. Saved objects retain distinct capture/object IDs, including mobs sharing a block. named

  • get_world_find_inventory

Read saved contents of one public storage observation from Find search/history. Resolves saved inventories on demand without scanning raw worlds. status distinguishes recorded, empty, unknown, not_indexed and unavailable; unknown totals are null. Page items with nextOffset and un

  • find_nocom_storage

Find historical NoCom chest/shulker/ender-chest block positions near native Minecraft coordinates. Resolve a named base with get_location/search_locations first and use its native dimension. Not inventories, ownership or current survival. Only Overworld records were captured; oth

  • find_recently_added_or_modified

Find location records added/modified in Atlas during inclusive UTC dates, newest matching timestamp first. For historical capture dates use find_locations_by_time_range. Not a complete change log; render-only changes may not update a location. Example: {"from":"2026-09-01","to":"

  • list_world_find_sources

List public Find sources and indexing coverage for NoCom, location WDLs and primary maps. Products and completedParts/totalParts distinguish indexed, partial and waiting sources; missing data does not establish absence. Filter by dimension, family or source name/ID. Follow nextOf

  • find_locations_by_time_range

Find locations with an Archive warp or public render captured within inclusive historical dates. For when records were added/modified in Atlas use find_recently_added_or_modified. Capture dates are not founding/destruction dates. Year/month-only dates match overlapping ranges; ca

Common questions

Is 2b2t Atlas safe?

It passed 3 of 3 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.1.0) reached the registry 21 days ago.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?

2b2tAtlas Public API

Use Atlas data in your own map, mod or research tool. Look up places, groups and highways, find a saved world, or search captured signs, inventories, mobs and map art. Public reads need no account or API key.

This repo has the API reference, HTTP examples and a dated copy of the application source.

Checked October 26, 2026: 57 public GET routes and 38 read-only MCP tools. Recorded response examples are from October 19; values and counts can change. Use the live website reference or the complete route catalog for exact parameters.

Base URL: https://api.blackportal.cloud. You can make requests from a browser, a command line, or your own code.

  • API reference
  • Live OpenAPI schema

  • Application source snapshot - September 26, 2026 source and setup instructions.

Try it

Open the location list in a browser, or run one of these commands. On Windows PowerShell 5.1, use curl.exe.

curl --fail "https://api.blackportal.cloud/api/locations"

curl --fail "https://api.blackportal.cloud/api/groups" curl --fail "https://api.blackportal.cloud/api/renders?limit=10" curl --fail "https://api.blackportal.cloud/api/nocom/highways?dimension=nether&direction=northeast"

List responses are JSON arrays. Warps, renders, and attachments accept limit and offset; the default limit is 500 and the maximum is 1,000. Locations return the complete catalog.

For a location picker or directory, use /api/locations/directory. It returns compact rows with names, groups, counts and preferred actions. Fetch /api/locations/{id} when someone opens a record for its full history and media.

Request examples

examples/requests.http contains ordinary HTTP requests for catalog records, Find, inventories and historical observations. Use the API from whatever language or HTTP tool you already use. No Atlas client package is required.

The application snapshot is separate from the current API reference. Its setup guides describe the September 26, 2026 source; they do not describe later production features or runtime changes.

Client behavior

  • Cache catalog responses and honor HTTP cache headers. In Minecraft clients, perform HTTP requests and image decoding outside the render/tick thread.
  • Use interactiveUrl for a location page, apiUrl for JSON, and worldDownloadUrl for a saved world. For a Find object's 3D destination, prefer savedObject.locationLink, resolved against https://2b2tatlas.com. blueMapUrl opens the standalone viewer and is optional and render-specific.
  • Handle null fields and ignore unknown JSON properties.
  • Coordinates use the record's native dimension: 0 Overworld, 1 Nether, 2 End. Tile-template {y} is a tile row, not Minecraft elevation.
  • WDLs are partial historical Java saves. Their metadata includes scope, provenance, size, and SHA-256; ZIP downloads support HTTP ranges.
  • Historical coordinates and renders do not describe the current server state. Nocom observation counts are not unique-player counts.
  • Saved inventories come from WDL captures. NoCom records container positions, not their contents. Neither an old capture nor a missing result tells you that a chest was later emptied or looted.
  • Retain source URLs, captions, attribution, and evidence fields when copying records so the original material can be checked.

MCP

Endpoint: https://api.blackportal.cloud/mcp. Transport: Streamable HTTP. The server is stateless and read-only, with no authentication required.

The MCP guide includes client configuration, the current tools, and resource URIs. The registry name is io.github.bobymicjohn/2b2t-atlas; its manifest is server.json.
