Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

MCP server giving Claude AI access to 22+ NYC public-record databases for real estate due diligence

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

  • Connection: Runs in the cloud
  • Transport: Streamable HTTP
  • Category: Travel, maps & weather

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 1 of 1 passed
  • Runs on the maker’s server: what you ask it goes through their server.
  • The registry lists no key to fill in.

You need

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile:

  1. Open Settings → Connectors
  2. Press Add custom connector
  3. Paste the address below and press Add
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Add2https://…3
https://nyc-property-intel-production.up.railway.app/mcp

Run this in your terminal

claude mcp add --transport http nyc-property-intel https://nyc-property-intel-production.up.railway.app/mcp

Open in Cursor

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "nyc-property-intel": {
      "url": "https://nyc-property-intel-production.up.railway.app/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{
  "servers": {
    "nyc-property-intel": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://nyc-property-intel-production.up.railway.app/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

ChatGPT connects only to servers on the internet:

  1. Open ChatGPT on the web → Settings → Connectors (Apps)
  2. Press Create or Add (some plans need Developer mode under Advanced first)
  3. Paste the address below, give it a name and save
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Create2https://…3
https://nyc-property-intel-production.up.railway.app/mcp

Menu names can differ slightly by plan and over time.

Your choice stays on this device in a cookie; no account needed.

These settings are generated from the maker’s registry entry. If the README says otherwise, follow the README.

Common questions

Is Nyc Property Intel safe?

It passed 1 of 1 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (0.1.1) reached the registry 6 months ago.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?

NYC Property Intel

MCP server that gives Claude AI access to 20+ NYC public record datasets for real estate due diligence. Ask Claude about any NYC property in plain English — violations, liens, sales history, ownership, permits, rent stabilization, zoning, fire history, crime data, and more.

This is a due diligence tool, not an appraisal tool. It surfaces public record data only; it does not estimate property values.

Quickstart — Web Chat (no setup)

The fastest way to try it: open [nycpropertyintel.com/chat](https://nycpropertyintel.com/chat) and ask about any NYC property in plain English. 3 free queries, no signup — no install, no token, and no Claude client needed.

"What violations does 123 Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn have?"
Free guides & lookups

Quickstart — Claude Code / Desktop (hosted MCP)

Sign up at nycpropertyintel.com to get a free trial token (10 queries/day for 30 days, including up to 5 full due-diligence reports). Then:

Claude Code — run once in your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http nyc-property-intel \

"https://nyc-property-intel-production.up.railway.app/mcp" \ --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" \ --scope user

Claude Desktop — add to claude_desktop_config.json (Settings → Developer → Edit Config):

{

"mcpServers": { "nyc-property-intel": { "type": "http", "url": "https://nyc-property-intel-production.up.railway.app/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" } } } }

Then ask Claude:

"Look up 350 5th Ave, Manhattan"

"What violations does 123 Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn have?" "Full due diligence on 123 Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn"

Self-Hosting

Prerequisites
  • Python 3.12+
  • uv package manager
  • PostgreSQL 16+
  • nycdb CLI (pip install nycdb)
1. Clone and install
git clone https://github.com/ccedacero/nyc-property-intel.git

cd nyc-property-intel uv sync

2. Configure environment
cp .env.example .env

Edit .env:

DATABASE_URL=postgresql://nycdb:nycdb@localhost:5432/nycdb

NYC_GEOCLIENT_SUBSCRIPTION_KEY=your_key (optional, improves address resolution)

SOCRATA_APP_TOKEN=your_token (optional, higher rate limits for 311/FDNY/NYPD)

3. Set up the database

Option A: Restore from dump (~10 min)

createuser -s nycdb 2>/dev/null; createdb -O nycdb nycdb 2>/dev/null

pg_restore -U nycdb -d nycdb --no-owner --jobs=4 data/nycdb.dump

Option B: Load from source (~2.5 hours)

createuser -s nycdb 2>/dev/null; createdb -O nycdb nycdb 2>/dev/null

chmod +x scripts/seed_nycdb.sh ./scripts/seed_nycdb.sh # all phases

or incrementally:

./scripts/seed_nycdb.sh --phase A # core data (~30 min) ./scripts/seed_nycdb.sh --phase B # sales + DOB (~45 min) ./scripts/seed_nycdb.sh --phase C # ACRIS + permits (~90 min)

Then create indexes and materialized views:

psql -U nycdb -d nycdb -f scripts/create_indexes.sql

psql -U nycdb -d nycdb -f scripts/create_views.sql

4. Add to Claude Desktop
{

"mcpServers": { "nyc-property-intel": { "command": "uv", "args": ["run", "nyc-property-intel"], "cwd": "/absolute/path/to/nyc-property-intel", "env": { "DATABASE_URL": "postgresql://nycdb:nycdb@localhost:5432/nycdb" } } } }

5. Add to Claude Code

The .mcp.json in the project root auto-registers when you open this directory. Or add manually to ~/.claude.json:

{

"mcpServers": { "nyc-property-intel": { "command": "uv", "args": ["run", "nyc-property-intel"], "cwd": "/absolute/path/to/nyc-property-intel" } } }
