Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

Interactive video forms that capture authentic responses. Build engaging forms in minutes.

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

  • Connection: Computer or cloud
  • Transport: stdio, Streamable HTTP
  • Category: Design, images & audio
  • You need to fill in: CLIPFORM_API_KEY, API_URL

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 3 of 3 passed
  • Runs on the maker’s server: what you ask it goes through their server.
  • Can do 33 things (tools) clipform_create_form, clipform_import_form, clipform_list_forms, clipform_whoami …
  • You fill in yourself: CLIPFORM_API_KEY, API_URL

Values marked secret are keys to your account. Never share them or paste them into a chat.

You need

  • Runs in the cloudNothing to install; it connects over the internet
  • npmNode.js installed (for the npx command)

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Values you fill in

  • CLIPFORM_API_KEY secret required env
API key that scopes tool calls to your workspace (create one in the dashboard under Settings, API keys). Not needed to list tools, only to call them.
  • API_URL required env
    Clipform API base URL.

These settings are generated from the maker’s registry entry. If the README says otherwise, follow the README.

What it can do

Tool names and descriptions exactly as the server reported them on Nov 6, 2026. The maker wrote them, not us; we show them as plain text.

  • clipform_create_form

Create a new Clipform (interactive video-style form). Returns a viewer URL and form ID. When connected via an authenticated MCP client (e.g. claude.ai), the form lands directly in the user's workspace. Anonymous sessions build into a temporary account of their own: guests connect

  • clipform_import_form

Copies the questions from a public Google Form, Typeform, or Tally form into a new Clipform draft. The source form and its responses stay where they are. Supported URLs: Google Forms (docs.google.com or forms.gle - must be shared as "Anyone with the link"), Typeform (form.typefor

  • clipform_list_forms

List forms in your workspace with optional filtering. Returns paginated results (cursor-based). next_cursor is included when more results exist. To find or open a form by name, pass search with part of its title instead of paging through results. Needs a signed-in Clipform accoun

  • clipform_whoami

Show the current identity: auth mode (api key, oauth, session, or anonymous), active workspace, and plan limits. Needs a signed-in Clipform account (an anonymous session is asked to sign in).

  • clipform_get_form

Retrieve a form's details including all nodes in sequential order and their routing. Returns title, settings, and every node with its options, config, media status, and next node (from clipform_set_logic).

  • clipform_update_form

Update a form's title, publish status, settings, or tags. Only sends fields that are provided - omitted fields remain unchanged. AI-PROTECTED parameters have restrictions noted in their descriptions.

  • clipform_delete_form

Move a form and all its nodes to the trash. It stops accepting responses immediately and can be restored later. Requires user confirmation before it runs. Needs a signed-in Clipform account (an anonymous session is asked to sign in).

  • clipform_get_results

View response counts, choice/action answer breakdowns, and recent open-text answers for a form. Answers to booking, contact details, file upload, drawing, camera, and payment nodes are counts only - use the dashboard for per-response detail. Needs a signed-in Clipform account (an

  • clipform_get_responses

List a Clipform form's individual responses (submissions) with time filtering - complements clipform_get_results (aggregates). Answers questions like 'what came in during the last 24 hours', 'what's the longest answer', 'what did people say'. Text answers plus a non-PII payment s

  • clipform_add_node

Add a new node to an existing form. Inserted before the end screen by default; after_node_id controls insertion position. Inserting into a linear flow automatically re-links the chain (the node before the insertion point points to the new node, which points to what followed) - yo

  • clipform_update_node

Update one or more existing nodes' text, type, config, or options. Pass multiple updates in one call instead of separate tool calls. Requires node IDs (returned by clipform_create_form, clipform_add_node, or clipform_get_form). Does not change node positions in the flow. All type

  • clipform_delete_node

Delete a node from a form. The logic chain is automatically re-linked (the previous node will point to the next one). Cannot delete the start node or the last end screen. On a live form the node stays on the live form until the form is published. Requires user confirmation before

  • clipform_upload_media_asset

Put one or more media files into your workspace media library (max 10, uploaded sequentially). This is step one of attaching media to a node - follow up with clipform_attach_node_media to place the returned media_asset_id on a node. When a public URL is provided, the media is fet

  • clipform_complete_media_upload

Confirm a signed-PUT still image upload finished, after PUTting the bytes to the upload_url returned by clipform_upload_media_asset. The API verifies the object actually landed in storage before flipping the asset from processing to ready - call this right after the PUT succeeds,

  • clipform_attach_node_media

Attach an existing workspace media asset (from clipform_upload_media_asset) to one or more nodes (max 10). Pass one item or many; multiple items attach sequentially. Only works on node types that support media (choice, open, scale, draw, binary, button). A media asset is reusable

  • clipform_get_node_media

Get the media attached to a node, including processing status. Useful for checking if a video upload has finished processing.

  • clipform_delete_node_media

Remove media from a node by unlinking it; the media asset and its files stay in the workspace library and keep working on any other node or live form that uses them. Requires user confirmation before it runs.

  • clipform_set_logic

Set the next node for one or more nodes, wiring a linear route (A to B to C). Pass multiple nodes in one call instead of separate tool calls. Each node routes to exactly one target node. Branching by which option a respondent picks is not configured here; it is set up in the form

  • clipform_log_generation

Internal audit step run by a form-generation workflow. Records a completed generation's content provenance (sources, image attributions) for the flow that just built the form. Not a user action - only call it as the final step of a generation workflow you are running, never in re

  • clipform_search_news

Search recent news articles from NewsAPI and The Guardian and return them as structured results. Coverage: recent events, people, and topics (post-May-2025). Does NOT cover timeless topics (history, geography, science). Returns: article title, source, author, date, URL, descripti

Common questions

Is Clipform safe?

It passed 3 of 3 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

You need to fill in: CLIPFORM_API_KEY, API_URL

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

Either way works: install it on your computer or connect to the cloud version.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (4.11.4) reached the registry today.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

@clipform/mcp-server

MCP server for Clipform - build and manage video-style forms from any MCP client (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf, etc.).

Install

There are two ways to connect: remote (recommended, uses your Clipform account) and local (anonymous, free-tier limits).

Remote (recommended)

Use this if you have a Clipform account. Forms are created directly in your workspace and your plan tier applies (no 3-node cap on Pro).

Claude (claude.ai): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → enter https://mcp.clipform.io

ChatGPT: Settings → Connectors → Advanced → enable Developer Mode → Create connector → enter https://mcp.clipform.io (requires Pro/Team/Enterprise)

Any MCP client with OAuth: Point it at https://mcp.clipform.io - discovery, registration, and auth are handled automatically via OAuth 2.1 + Dynamic Client Registration (RFC 7591).

Local - Claude Code / Claude Desktop / Cursor / etc.

Use this for stdio-based MCP clients. Pass your API key to authenticate with your workspace and plan tier.

Claude Code:

claude mcp add clipform -e CLIPFORM_API_KEY=cf_xxx -- npx -y @clipform/mcp-server

Claude Desktop / Cursor / Windsurf / OpenClaw - add to your MCP config:

{

"mcpServers": { "clipform": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "@clipform/mcp-server"], "env": { "CLIPFORM_API_KEY": "cf_xxx", "API_URL": "https://api.clipform.io" } } } }

Generate an API key in your Clipform dashboard under Developers > API keys. The local server always needs one - to try Clipform without an account, connect to https://mcp.clipform.io instead (see "How it works").

Environment variables
VariableRequiredPurpose
CLIPFORM_API_KEYFor workspace authBearer key - forms land in the key's workspace with its plan limits. Also unlocks the creative tools (search, TTS, video rendering). Required by the local server.

Example

Create a Clipform called "Customer Feedback" with a choice question asking "How would you rate our service?" with options Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor, then an open-ended question asking "Any additional comments?", and finish with an end screen saying "Thanks for your feedback!"

How it works

Remote (OAuth): Bearer tokens are audience-bound to https://mcp.clipform.io (RFC 8707) and scoped to mcp only. Forms land directly in the workspace you approved during consent by default. One connection reaches every workspace you belong to in the same company: pass workspace_id (ids from clipform_whoami) on clipform_create_form, clipform_import_form, clipform_list_forms, clipform_upload_media_asset, or clipform_generate_tts, or a form_id from another workspace on any form tool - including clipform_upload_media_asset, clipform_generate_tts, and clipform_complete_media_upload, where it's a routing hint only (the result still lands in that workspace's media library, not on a node). Membership is re-checked on every call, and results name the workspace.

Local with API key: The CLIPFORM_API_KEY is sent as a standard Authorization: Bearer header. Forms are created directly in the key's workspace with your plan tier limits.

Remote anonymous (no sign-in): Connecting to https://mcp.clipform.io without signing in builds into a temporary account of the session's own. The form goes live at creation (after a content check), takes up to 3 responses and goes offline after 7 days unless you sign up; steps that need an account (payments, uploads, downloads, booking, outside links) are switched off until you sign up. Build results include a one-time sign-up link that moves the form into your new account (on the first form, periodically after, and at the form limit), or say "sign in" if you already have an account. A claimed form with those steps arrives as a draft - publish it to switch them on. While unclaimed, the form UUID is the credential to edit it; free-plan limits apply. The local stdio server always needs CLIPFORM_API_KEY.

These tools need a signed-in Clipform account (OAuth, or an API key): clipform_list_forms, clipform_whoami, clipform_get_results, clipform_get_responses, clipform_delete_form. An anonymous remote session that calls one is asked to sign in instead (for the results tools: "Sign in to see this form's responses"). Everything else, including clipform_get_guide, clipform_get_workflow and clipform_list_assets, works without an account.

Forms are created with a start node and end screen automatically - you just add the nodes in between.

Links

Craft guides (clipform://guides/*, clipform_get_guide) are fetched from the Clipform API at runtime, so the server needs a reachable API_URL and valid CLIPFORM_API_KEY to serve them.
