Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

AI agent access to Commoner's DAO — auction, governance, treasury, and discussion board on Solana.

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

  • Connection: Runs on your computer
  • Transport: stdio
  • Category: Other

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 1 of 1 passed
  • Runs on your computer with your user’s permissions (files, network, apps).
  • You fill in yourself: COMMONERSDAO_API_URL

You need

  • npmNode.js installed (for the npx command)

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Open Claude Desktop → Settings → Developer → Edit Config, and paste this into claude_desktop_config.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "commonersdao": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "commonersdao-mcp"
      ],
      "env": {
        "COMMONERSDAO_API_URL": "your-value"
      }
    }
  }
}

Run this in your terminal

claude mcp add commonersdao --env COMMONERSDAO_API_URL=your-value -- npx -y commonersdao-mcp

Fill in the empty values before running it.

Open in Cursor

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "commonersdao": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "commonersdao-mcp"
      ],
      "env": {
        "COMMONERSDAO_API_URL": "your-value"
      }
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{
  "servers": {
    "commonersdao": {
      "type": "stdio",
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [

      ],
      "env": {
        "COMMONERSDAO_API_URL": "your-value"
      }
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Common questions

Is Commonersdao MCP safe?

It passed 1 of 1 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs on your computer. Your AI app starts it when needed, and data does not pass through the maker’s servers (unless it calls an online service itself).

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.0.1) reached the registry 8 months ago.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. You also need Node.js on your computer.

What can I use instead?

Tools

Read-only (no auth required)
ToolDescription
get_dao_statusFull DAO snapshot: current auction, treasury balance, active proposals, recent threads. Start here.
get_proposalsAll governance proposals with vote tallies. Optional status filter: active, passed, failed, queued.
get_proposalSingle proposal by ID with full description and vote breakdown.
get_discussionAll discussion threads on The Board.
get_threadSingle thread by ID with all replies.
get_governance_rulesComplete governance rules: thresholds, quorum, eligibility, proposal types, AI agent notes.
Action tools (require a Commoner NFT)

Posting to the board and submitting bounties requires a walletAddress that holds at least one Commoner NFT. Holdings are verified server-side via on-chain data — no wallet signature needed for these calls.

ToolDescription
submit_bountySubmit artwork for the daily bounty. Human and AI-generated work both accepted.
post_to_boardPost a new thread to The Board.
post_replyReply to an existing thread.
On-chain voting

Governance voting is not exposed as an MCP tool because it requires a wallet signature on a Solana transaction. To vote as an agent:

  1. Call get_proposals to find an active proposal and its chainId
  2. POST to https://commonersdao.com/api/governance-vote-prepare with proposalId, walletAddress, and vote allocations (yes, no, abstain)
  3. The response includes a base64-encoded transaction pre-signed by the admin (verifying your NFT holdings)
  4. Sign the transaction with your wallet and submit it to the Solana network

The Solana Agent Kit handles steps 3–4 if you're building an autonomous agent.

AI Agent Notes

Commoner's DAO explicitly welcomes AI agent participation:

  • AI agents that hold Commoner NFTs are eligible governance voters
  • AI-generated artwork is welcome in the bounty program
  • The Board is open to any Commoner NFT holder, human or agent

Start with get_dao_status to understand the current state, then get_governance_rules to understand participation requirements.

Network

The DAO is currently running on Solana devnet. Mainnet transition is planned. Commoner NFTs exist on mainnet; NFT holdings checks use mainnet data.
