What it can do

Tool names and descriptions exactly as the server reported them on Nov 6, 2026. The maker wrote them, not us; we show them as plain text.

  • get_my_profile

Get your own workload.zero profile (name, job title, bio, location, skills).

  • update_my_profile

Update your own profile. Pass the fields to change as a JSON object string.

  • list_users

List the users of the workspace (id and name). Use the id for direct messages; for task assignment use list_team_members or the user id.

  • get_my_colleagues

List the people you share projects with, incl. their team member ids.

  • list_team_members

List team members (id | user | type | weekly capacity). The team member id is what projects and task assignments store.

  • search

Search across projects, tasks (title, number, linked issue) and users. Example: query "ZERO-41" or "login bug".

  • list_notifications

List your notifications, newest first (id | read | title | message).

  • mark_notifications_read

Mark one notification as read, or all of them when notificationId is left out.

  • get_activity_feed

Recent changes in your projects (who changed what), optionally for one project or one area.

  • list_projects

List the projects you have access to (id | code | name | status | client).

  • get_project

Get a project: status, client, budget, period, team member ids, task count and description.

  • create_project

Create a project. clientId comes from list_clients (or create_client). Example: title "Website relaunch", projectCode "WEB", duration {startDate: "2026-11-01", endDate: "2027-03-31"}, budget {hourlyRate: 95, currency: "EUR"}.

  • update_project

Update a project. Give only the fields to change, e.g. status "on_hold" or a new end date in duration. The legacy `updates` JSON string is still accepted.

  • delete_project

Delete a project you created. It is archived and hidden from all members; tasks and time entries stay in the database.

  • get_project_budget

Budget analytics of a project: planned vs. used hours and amount, burn rate.

List the members of a project (team member id | user id | name | role | weekly hours). Use the team member id for add/update/remove_project_member.

  • add_project_member

Add a team member to a project (admin or project manager). teamMemberId comes from list_team_members.

  • update_project_member

  • create_client

Create a project client (admin or project manager).

  • list_tasks

List tasks (id | number | title | status | priority | project | assignees | due). Without projectId: your assigned tasks, or with view "all" every task in your projects. With projectId: all tasks of that project, filterable by assignee and priority.

  • get_task

Get one task with description, status, priority, assignees, estimate and booked hours, start/due date, tags, linked issue, links, subtask parent, attachments (with download links) and comments.

  • create_task

Create a task (shown in workload.zero as created by an agent). Example: projectId from list_projects, title "Fix login redirect", priority "high", assignedTo [user or team member id], deadline {startDateTime: "2026-11-10T09:00:00Z", endDateTime: "2026-11-14T17:00:00Z"}, maxHours

  • update_task

Update a task. Give only the fields to change: status, title, description, priority, assignedTo (replaces the list), tags (replaces), deadline, maxHours, linkedIssue, links (replaces), parentTaskId. Archive with status "archived". The legacy `updates` JSON string is still accepte

  • set_task_work_links

Replace the work result links of a task (what the assignee delivered, e.g. a PR or a deployed preview).

  • delete_task

Delete a task (admin, project manager or project lead). It goes to the deleted list and can be restored with restore_task.

  • restore_task

Restore a deleted task. Takes the Mongo id from list_deleted_tasks.

Common questions

Is workload.zero safe?

It passed 3 of 3 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.0.3) reached the registry 2 days ago.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?
