Description from the maker (original English)
Local-first open-source AI media workbench with Canvas, video editor, Assets, and MCP tools.
These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.
We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.
Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.
Which app do you use?
Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.
Download the maker’s .mcpb file
The link goes to the maker’s own file; we do not host or repackage it. Open the file and Claude Desktop installs it.
Run this in your terminal
Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

It passed 0 of 1 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.
The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.
It runs on your computer. Your AI app starts it when needed, and data does not pass through the maker’s servers (unless it calls an online service itself).
The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (0.2.1) reached the registry 2 months ago.

Let any LLM watch a video locally — and search everything it has ever watched.
Figma’s official server gives AI your design data so it can turn designs into code or describe them accurately. Connects to Figma’s cloud.

BeatDesign is an independent, open-source, local-first workspace for AI image and video creation. It is built for people who want the connected creative flow of tools such as Higgsfield, with a workspace they can run, inspect, and extend on their own machine.
Available in GitHub Release v0.2.5 and @beatapi/beatdesign-workbuddy@0.2.5. WorkBuddy marketplace review and availability are tracked separately.
For an existing source checkout, stop BeatDesign, run git pull --ff-only, pnpm install --frozen-lockfile, pnpm db:push, then restart pnpm dev:agent (or your usual UI/MCP commands). Keep your local data directory; no reinstall or project reset is needed.
Already available: tail-frame continuation, Canvas-to-Editor handoff, image overlays, styled SRT captions, browser-native MP4 export, and MCP timeline rendering. Browser export needs no system FFmpeg; MCP frame extraction needs ffmpeg, and MCP timeline rendering also needs ffprobe.

Current source (unreleased) adds persistent Canvas groups and arrangement, Asset folders, exact-version Elements and reusable local workflow templates, with 38 MCP tools. These changes are not in the v0.2.5 npm package. Organization guide.
Drop in prompts, images, video, and audio. Connect nodes, branch ideas, compare generations, reuse outputs, and keep the full visual workflow inside one project.
Turn Canvas results into a local timeline. Trim, split, move, mix audio, place and transform image overlays, style SRT captions, create alternate AI Takes, preview, and export MP4 in the browser.
Studio provides a focused generation surface. Assets keeps every imported and generated file available across Canvas, Editor, and MCP.
Prompt or local media
↓ Infinite Canvas ─── connect, generate, branch, compare ↓ Shared Assets ───── images, video, audio, extracted clips ↓ Video Editor ────── trim, arrange, preview, export MP4 ↑ Any MCP Agent ───── works in the same local Project
Requirements include Node.js 22+, pnpm 10+, and a current Chrome browser on macOS or Windows.
git clone https://github.com/BeatAPI/BeatDesign.git
cd BeatDesign pnpm install pnpm db:push pnpm dev
Open http://127.0.0.1:3020.
Use the language menu to choose English, Chinese, or Japanese. Current source remembers the choice in this browser for 400 days, renewed on each visit, including when reopening an old localized link. Use the same local hostname; another browser, private session, or cleared site data needs a new choice.
Add your own BeatAPI API key only when you want to generate or analyze media, or use AI redo. Selecting a local file does not upload it to a provider.
| Command | Starts |
|---|---|
pnpm dev | The visual workspace |
pnpm dev:agent | The visual workspace and local HTTP MCP endpoint |
pnpm mcp | The stdio MCP server for coding Agents |
Current source exposes 38 local MCP tools (v0.2.5 packages expose 30) for Skills, Projects, Assets, Canvas, generation, and Editor operations, including built-in Skill discovery and authoritative MP4 timeline rendering. Agent changes use the same project services and become visible in the browser workspace.
After connecting your MCP host, you can ask:
Open my latest BeatDesign project, add these clips to a timeline, place the logo overlay, adjust the subtitles, and leave the Editor open for review.
