Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

Cheapest fuel and EV charging near a place or along a drive, in about 40 countries

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

  • Connection: Runs on your computer
  • Transport: stdio
  • Category: Other

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 1 of 1 passed
  • Runs on your computer with your user’s permissions (files, network, apps).
  • You fill in yourself: PUMPERLY_URL

You need

  • npmNode.js installed (for the npx command)

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Open Claude Desktop → Settings → Developer → Edit Config, and paste this into claude_desktop_config.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "pumperly": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "pumperly-mcp"
      ],
      "env": {
        "PUMPERLY_URL": "your-value"
      }
    }
  }
}

Run this in your terminal

claude mcp add pumperly --env PUMPERLY_URL=your-value -- npx -y pumperly-mcp

Fill in the empty values before running it.

Open in Cursor

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "pumperly": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "pumperly-mcp"
      ],
      "env": {
        "PUMPERLY_URL": "your-value"
      }
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{
  "servers": {
    "pumperly": {
      "type": "stdio",
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "pumperly-mcp"
      ],
      "env": {
        "PUMPERLY_URL": "your-value"
      }
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

This one runs on your computer, and ChatGPT can only connect to servers on the internet. Pick another app.

Values you fill in

  • PUMPERLY_URL env
    Pumperly instance URL (default https://pumperly.com); set it to use your own instance

These settings are generated from the maker’s registry entry. If the README says otherwise, follow the README.

Common questions

Is Pumperly safe?

It passed 1 of 1 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs on your computer. Your AI app starts it when needed, and data does not pass through the maker’s servers (unless it calls an online service itself).

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (0.2.1) reached the registry 10 days ago.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. You also need Node.js, Docker on your computer.

What can I use instead?

pumperly-mcp

A small bridge that exposes any Pumperly instance as an MCP server, so an AI agent can find the cheapest fuel or charging near a place or along a drive, in about 40 countries, mostly in Europe.

Features

  • Six read-only tools:
ToolWhat it answers
cheapest_fuel_on_routeWhere to fill up between two places, in one call
find_nearest_stationsStations near a place name or coordinates, by distance or price
get_stations_in_areaStations inside a bounding box, cheapest first
calculate_routeDriving distance and time between places, with up to 5 stops
find_route_stationsStations along a route geometry you already have
geocodeCoordinates for a place name
  • Four resources: pumperly://fuel-types, pumperly://config, pumperly://stats, pumperly://exchange-rates.
  • Short answers: station lists are sorted, cut to a limit and summarised (min, median and max price), so a search costs about 1 KB of context.
  • MCP 2026-07-28 and every earlier version back to 2024-11-05, on the same binary: new clients use server/discover, older ones initialize.
  • Two transports: stdio, and streamable HTTP on /mcp with a bearer token and origin checks.
  • Works with the public instance at pumperly.com or your own: set PUMPERLY_URL. No API key.

Every tool only reads, so there is no read-only switch to set.

Install

The npm package downloads the release binary for your platform, checks its SHA-256 against the checksums shipped in the package, and runs it over stdio. It needs Node.js 18 or later.

Claude Code:

claude mcp add pumperly -- npx -y pumperly-mcp

Claude Desktop (claude_desktop_config.json) and Cursor (~/.cursor/mcp.json):

{

"mcpServers": { "pumperly": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "pumperly-mcp"] } } }

VS Code (.vscode/mcp.json):

{

"servers": { "pumperly": { "type": "stdio", "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "pumperly-mcp"] } } }

Codex (~/.codex/config.toml):

[mcp_servers.pumperly]

command = "npx" args = ["-y", "pumperly-mcp"]

Docker, over stdio:

docker run -i --rm -e TRANSPORT=stdio drumsergio/pumperly-mcp:v0.2.0

To use your own Pumperly instance, add PUMPERLY_URL to the environment ("env": { "PUMPERLY_URL": "https://..." } in the JSON configs). For the HTTP transport, see Getting started.
