Your choice stays on this device in a cookie; no account needed.

Values you fill in

  • MINERU_URL env
URL of the mineru-api engine. Only loopback or host.docker.internal is accepted; any other host is treated as external and documents are not sent.
  • MINERU_BACKEND env
Backend used when a call leaves backend empty. pipeline needs the least VRAM; hybrid-engine and vlm-engine need ~4GB.
  • MINERU_PARSE_METHOD env
Extraction method used when a call leaves parse_method empty.
  • MINERU_LANG env
OCR language used when a call leaves lang empty.

These settings are generated from the maker’s registry entry. If the README says otherwise, follow the README.

Common questions

Is MinerU MCP safe?

It passed 1 of 1 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs on your computer. Your AI app starts it when needed, and data does not pass through the maker’s servers (unless it calls an online service itself).

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (0.1.0) reached the registry 21 days ago.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. You also need Docker on your computer.

What can I use instead?

Tags: mcp-server · mineru · pdf-parser · ocr · latex · ai-agents · fastmcp · claude-code · cursor · hermes-gateway · local-first · self-hosted

Opción A — HTTP (server compartido)
git clone https://github.com/GermaniU/mineru-mcp.git

cd mineru-mcp uv venv && source .venv/bin/activate uv pip install -e . MINERU_URL=http://127.0.0.1:8000 mineru-mcp

Endpoint MCP: http:// :8202/mcp.

{

"mcpServers": { "mineru": { "command": "docker", "args": [ "run", "-i", "--rm", "--add-host", "host.docker.internal:host-gateway", "-e", "MINERU_URL=http://host.docker.internal:8000", "ghcr.io/germaniu/mineru-mcp:latest", "--stdio" ] } } }

MCP_TRANSPORT*(vacío = HTTP)*stdio equivale a pasar --stdio.

Qué protege y qué no cada ajuste: SECURITY.md.

🛠️ Herramientas Expuestas (Tool Reference)

ToolQué hace
parse_documentParseo síncrono (30-120 s) de PDF, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX o imagen a Markdown. Entrada: file_path (ruta en el server) o file_base64 + file_name. Opcionales: backend, effort, image_analysis, parse_method, lang, formula_enable, table_enable, start_page, end_page.
submit_parse_taskIgual que parse_document pero asíncrono: devuelve un task_id. Para documentos de más de ~50 páginas.
get_task_statusEstado de una tarea (pending / processing / completed / failed).
get_task_resultMarkdown de una tarea ya completada.
mineru_healthDisponibilidad de mineru-api, versión y tareas en cola.

start_page y end_page cuentan desde 0: la demo pide start_page: 4, end_page: 5 y recibe las páginas 5 y 6 del paper. hybrid-engine + effort=high + image_analysis=true convierte figuras en diagramas Mermaid.

🎯 Alcance actual

curl -sS -X POST http://localhost:8202/mcp \
