Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

The official Letmediff MCP server helping you review your code with an agent first workflow

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

  • Connection: Runs on your computer
  • Transport: stdio
  • Category: Other

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 1 of 1 passed
  • Runs on your computer with your user’s permissions (files, network, apps).
  • The registry lists no key to fill in.

You need

  • npmNode.js installed (for the npx command)

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Common questions

Is Letmediff MCP safe?

It passed 1 of 1 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs on your computer. Your AI app starts it when needed, and data does not pass through the maker’s servers (unless it calls an online service itself).

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (0.0.11) reached the registry 2 months ago.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. You also need Node.js on your computer.

letmediff CLI

letmediff is an MCP server that lets an agent share its current code diff for review and receive feedback from the reviewer without leaving the coding session.

It snapshots the repository where it is started, tracks named checkpoints, uploads the checkpoint diffs to the letmediff web app, and waits for feedback over server-sent events.

Install

From the published package:

pnpm dlx letmediff

From this workspace:

pnpm --filter letmediff exec letmediff

MCP Usage

Configure your MCP client to run letmediff in the repository you want reviewed.

Example command:

letmediff

For local app development, point the CLI at the local SvelteKit server:

URL=http://localhost:5173 letmediff

If URL is not set, the CLI posts diffs to https://letmediff.com.

Tools

The server exposes four MCP tools.

  • create_checkpoint: stores the diff since the previous snapshot under a reviewer-friendly name.
  • reset_review: clears all checkpoints and restarts the review from the current working tree. Destructive.
  • get_url: uploads the collected checkpoints and returns the shareable /diff/[id] URL.
  • wait_for_feedback: waits for feedback submitted from the web app and returns it to the agent.

Review Flow

  1. Start the MCP server from the repository being edited.
  2. Ask the agent to create checkpoints when a change should appear as a separate review section.
  3. Ask the agent for the review URL.
  4. Open the URL, review the rendered diff, and submit feedback.
  5. The agent receives the feedback through wait_for_feedback and can continue working.

Development

Install dependencies from the repo root:

pnpm install

Run tests:

pnpm --filter letmediff test

The CLI entry point is src/index.js. Git snapshotting and checkpoint diff generation live in src/git.js.

Environment

  • URL: base URL of the letmediff app. Defaults to https://letmediff.com.

Notes

  • The server uses stdio transport, so normal stdout is reserved for MCP communication.
  • It snapshots the current working directory at startup, excluding .git.
  • Checkpoints are kept in memory for the life of the MCP process.
