Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

The U.S. Marketplace of Learning2Earning Opportunity | Sourced checklists, progress, prior learning

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

  • Connection: Runs in the cloud
  • Transport: Streamable HTTP
  • Category: Online shops & payments

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 2 of 3 passed
  • Runs on the maker’s server: what you ask it goes through their server.
  • Can do 60 things (tools) search_certifications, get_certification, certifications_for_occupation, occupations_for_certification …
  • The registry lists no key to fill in.

You need

Which app do you use?

These settings are generated from the maker’s registry entry. If the README says otherwise, follow the README.

What it can do

Tool names and descriptions exactly as the server reported them on Nov 8, 2026. The maker wrote them, not us; we show them as plain text.

  • search_certifications

Which certification is this prose name? Start here for any plain question — a trade, field, job, skill, or company in everyday words. Returns candidates with ids, issuers, and source basis — candidates rather than a single guess when the name is ambiguous; the ids feed the other

  • get_certification

Everything held about one certification: issuer and issuer domain, occupations served, exam and renewal requirements, education-or-experience routes, Credential Engine registry identity where held, and the basis and source URL for the claim.

  • certifications_for_occupation

What certifications serve this occupation? SOC-keyed lookup (dashed SOC accepted with or without the O*NET .00 suffix).

  • occupations_for_certification

What occupations does this certification serve?

  • related_certifications

What else serves the same occupation? Traverses on SOC only — a certification sharing solely an instructional program (CIP) is not related (contract § 4).

  • certifications_for_program

Broad academic cross-reference by instructional program (CIP). A deliberately broader, lower-precision question than an occupation lookup — never its peer (contract § 4).

  • list_issuers

The issuing organizations, optionally filtered by a name query.

  • resolve_term

Where does a word place in the KSA model? The KSA Dictionary is the shared vocabulary that defines the terms a learner uses to assert what they know, do, and are — and the terms a learning offering uses to express what it comprises — so both sides resolve to the same identifiers,

  • expand_term

What is this word, upward? Walks the WordNet is-a (hypernym) chain meaning to parent meaning, from the word's KSA-mapped sense toward its broader categories, so every step stays in the sense it started in. Each step carries its definition (gloss) and synonyms.

  • get_dictionary_summary

What does the KSA Dictionary hold? The words and meanings it places, the governed terms, the O*NET content-model elements, the link words and the CIP-SOC crosswalk, each with its own version and build date where the layer publishes one, and an honest not held where it does not. R

  • crosswalk_code

What does this code cross to? Auto-detects the family — dotted CIP (52.0201) or dashed SOC (11-1021, O*NET .00 suffix accepted) — and answers the other family's codes and titles from the federal CIP-SOC crosswalk.

  • open_coach

Open a visible, speaking coach (coach, advisor, counselor, teacher, mentor or another role) in this chat as an MCP App view, for any GoldSeam service. Give the role and your service's own context in any shape; send a coach object from an earlier open_coach to reopen the same coac

  • coach_say

Speak through the open coach: the words, queued for the coach and spoken in the voice the person chose on the coach once the coach view holds the coach; and optional cues (GoldAvatar's show_frame, action, head, set_caption, speaking, mouth_shapes, blink, idle, auto_revert) at sen

  • coach_listen

Listen for the person's next spoken reply to the open coach, through the coach session open_coach started: start in the turn that opened the coach, with session_ends_at (coach.session.ends_at). While the person's Talk switch on the coach view is on (it turns on by itself when the

  • coach_board

Show the whiteboard beside the open coach, or close it (show false). It shows a title, an answer's text and a picture: image_url is an https picture on the web, which GoldSeam fetches for the view (the view may not load other sites' pictures; at most 1 MB). While it is shown, the

Common questions

Is Goldseam safe?

It passed 2 of 3 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.2.29) reached the registry today.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?

GoldSeam

The marketplace for teaching, training and learning — to explore, compare and engage with, through the AI you already use.

https://goldseam.ksaworks.com/mcp

No authentication. No account. No sign-up. It is a public service, published by AcademyOne, Inc., the company behind KSAWorks.

GoldSeam speaks the Model Context Protocol over streamable HTTP. Every answer carries its source and the date of the snapshot that produced it, and an absence is stated as an absence rather than filled in.

What you can do here. Explore what postsecondary organizations offer — programs, courses, checklists, certifications, and the careers they lead to. Compare them on what actually differs: what a program requires, what your credits and exams may count as, what a certification takes. Engage — take an answer to the school that decides, with its source attached.

Why it exists. The advising conversation has moved. People ask the assistant on their phone, not a portal, and what is missing there is not authoritative information about teaching, training and learning — it is that the information is scattered across every institution that publishes it. GoldSeam puts it in one seam, wherever the person already is: assistant-agnostic by design, so a new surface is new reach rather than a new integration.

Connect it

In Claude — open Customize → Connectors, click + → Add custom connector, paste the address, click Add. Then in any chat press + → Connectors and switch GoldSeam on.

Using ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, VS Code or your own agent? Same address — install/ has that client's steps, a mcp.json snippet, and a skill that teaches an AI how to ask GoldSeam well.

No AI app at all? The same data answers questions in a browser at KSAWorks.

What it covers

CourseShelf — colleges and what they teach, from the institutions' own published catalogs. Identify a school by name or IPEDS UNITID, or list a state's; read its programs, its courses, its checklists (the requirements for an award), its catalogs and its published policies; search programs and courses across schools; compare two schools' checklists for the same program side by side.

GoldCheck — will my credits transfer. Give a course history or an exam score and see what a named school's own published rules and catalog say it may count as.

GoldRibbon — your own record. Hand your AI transcripts, a resume, certifications or military records, add life experiences in your own words, and get your Competency Selfie and what your prior learning may earn as credit against a named program's checklist. Your AI keeps the package; GoldSeam stores nothing.

Industry Certifications — search by a trade, field, job or company; everything held about one certification (issuer, occupations served, exam and renewal requirements, Credential Engine identity); the certifications that serve an occupation (SOC) or cross-reference an academic program (CIP); the issuing bodies.

Transitions — where a path can lead: the destinations reachable from where a person stands, and how they compare.

KSA Dictionary — the shared vocabulary. Resolve a word to where it places in the KSA model across a governed lexicon, the O\*NET content model and a WordNet-derived index, each answer attributed to its layer; walk a word up its is-a chain; cross a program code to occupations and back; ask what the dictionary itself holds.

Each area has its own page under docs/areas/, and examples/ holds real runs — the prompt as asked and the answer as returned, stamped with the build and the data publish that produced it.

Reading an answer

You seeIt means
a named sourcea school's own catalog page, a published rule, or the federal record
a snapshot datewhich capture answered, so you always know how current it is
not heldwe have not captured that yet. An honest gap, not an opinion
offlinethe catalog service was unreachable at that moment. Try again

GoldSeam never invents a school, a course or a requirement. If it cannot find one, it says so.

Coverage is uneven while catalogs are being captured, and the service publishes its own coverage measure — ask it with get_courseshelf_summary. No number is written on this page, because the service's own answer is always the current one.

Using it beyond a first look

Nothing is required to connect. Anonymous use carries a daily allowance; past it, the answer points at a free key-request form. A key is authorization to keep using the service, not authentication to reach it — it raises the allowance and names your organization in the usage record. Ask for one at https://goldseam.ksaworks.com/request-key.

Privacy

The usage record keeps counts only — no personal record, and nothing a person types. Evidence handed to GoldRibbon is held by your AI, not by this service. The full statement: ksaworks.com/privacy.html · see also SECURITY.md.
