Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

Manage Nife.io cloud apps, sites, secrets and Git integrations from MCP clients.

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

  • Connection: Runs in the cloud
  • Transport: Streamable HTTP
  • Category: Cybersecurity

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 3 of 3 passed
  • Runs on the maker’s server: what you ask it goes through their server.
  • The registry lists no key to fill in.

You need

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile:

  1. Open Settings → Connectors
  2. Press Add custom connector
  3. Paste the address below and press Add
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Add2https://…3
https://mcp.on.nifetency.com/mcp

Run this in your terminal

claude mcp add --transport http nife https://mcp.on.nifetency.com/mcp

Open in Cursor

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "nife": {
      "url": "https://mcp.on.nifetency.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{
  "servers": {
    "nife": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.on.nifetency.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

ChatGPT connects only to servers on the internet:

  1. Open ChatGPT on the web → Settings → Connectors (Apps)
  2. Press Create or Add (some plans need Developer mode under Advanced first)
  3. Paste the address below, give it a name and save
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Create2https://…3
https://mcp.on.nifetency.com/mcp

Menu names can differ slightly by plan and over time.

Your choice stays on this device in a cookie; no account needed.

These settings are generated from the maker’s registry entry. If the README says otherwise, follow the README.

What it can do

The server asks you to sign in before it lists its tools.

Common questions

Is Nife safe?

It passed 3 of 3 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.2.0) reached the registry today.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?

Nife.io MCP Server

A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that interfaces with the Nife.io GraphQL API

Installation • Quick Start • Documentation • Contributing

Overview

Nife MCP Server provides a standardized interface to interact with Nife.io's GraphQL API through the Model Context Protocol, enabling seamless integration with Claude Desktop and other MCP-compatible applications.

Key Features
  • Intelligent Schema Discovery - Automatically discovers and adapts to the GraphQL schema
  • Dynamic Tool Generation - Creates MCP tools on-the-fly from schema
  • Zero Configuration - Works out of the box with minimal setup
  • Secure Authentication - Bearer token support with flexible configuration
  • Multiple Install Methods - PyPI, NPM, or GitHub
  • Cross-Platform - Works on macOS, Linux, and Windows
  • Production Ready - Comprehensive error handling and logging

Installation

Option 1: PyPI (Recommended for Python users)
pip install nife-mcp-server
Option 2: NPM (Best for Claude Desktop)
npx @nifelabs/mcp-server@latest
Option 3: From Source
git clone https://github.com/nifetency/nife-mcp-server

cd nife-mcp-server pip install -r requirements.txt

Quick Start

1. Get Your Access Token
nifectl auth login

nifectl auth token

2. Configure Claude Desktop

You can use the Nife MCP Server in three ways depending on your setup.

1. Recommended: Using NPX (No Installation Required)

This is the easiest way to get started.

{

"mcpServers": { "nife": { "command": "npx", "args": ["--yes", "@nifelabs/mcp-server@latest"], "env": { "NIFE_ACCESS_TOKEN": "your_token_here", "PYTHON": "PYTHON_PATH"

} } } }

2. Using Python (Installed via pip)

If you installed the package via pip:

pip install nife-mcp-server

Use this configuration:

{

"mcpServers": { "nife": { "command": "python", "args": ["-m", "nife_mcp_server"], "env": { "NIFE_ACCESS_TOKEN": "your_token_here" } } } }

3. Local Development (Source Code)

If you're running from source:

{

"mcpServers": { "nife": { "command": "python", "args": ["-m", "nife_mcp_server.intelligent_main"], "env": { "PYTHONPATH": "C:\\path\\to\\nife-mcp-server\\src", "NIFE_ACCESS_TOKEN": "your_token_here" } } } }

Replace the PYTHONPATH with your local project path.

Usage

Starting the Server
# If installed via pip

nife-mcp-server

If running from source

python -m nife_mcp_server.intelligent_main

The server speaks MCP over stdin/stdout, so it is normally launched by your MCP client (e.g. Claude Desktop) rather than run by hand. It does not listen on a network port.

To run the hosted HTTP connector instead, install the http extra (pip install "nife-mcp-server[http]") and run nife-mcp-http. It listens on PORT (default 8000); see HOSTED.md.

Environment Variables
  • NIFE_ACCESS_TOKEN - Your Nife.io access token

The GraphQL endpoint is fixed to https://api.nife.io/graphql. The hosted connector has its own settings, listed in HOSTED.md.

Example Usage with Claude

Once configured, you can ask Claude:

"List all my applications in Nife.io"

"Show me the status of my deployments" "Create a new application called 'my-app'"
