Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

AAVE V2/V3 lending & governance MCP — 7 chains via The Graph subgraphs

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

  • Connection: Runs on your computer
  • Transport: stdio
  • Category: Accounting, finance & tax
  • You need to fill in: GRAPH_API_KEY

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 1 of 1 passed
  • Runs on your computer with your user’s permissions (files, network, apps).
  • You fill in yourself: GRAPH_API_KEY

Values marked secret are keys to your account. Never share them or paste them into a chat.

You need

  • npmNode.js installed (for the npx command)

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Open Claude Desktop → Settings → Developer → Edit Config, and paste this into claude_desktop_config.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "graph-aave": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "graph-aave-mcp"
      ],
      "env": {
        "GRAPH_API_KEY": "your-value"
      }
    }
  }
}

Run this in your terminal

claude mcp add graph-aave --env GRAPH_API_KEY=your-value -- npx -y graph-aave-mcp

Fill in the empty values before running it.

Open in Cursor

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "graph-aave": {
      "command": "npx",

      ],
      "env": {
        "GRAPH_API_KEY": "your-value"
      }
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{
  "servers": {
    "graph-aave": {

      ],
      "env": {
        "GRAPH_API_KEY": "your-value"
      }
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Common questions

Is Graph Aave MCP safe?

It passed 1 of 1 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

You need to fill in: GRAPH_API_KEY

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs on your computer. Your AI app starts it when needed, and data does not pass through the maker’s servers (unless it calls an online service itself).

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.0.0) reached the registry 8 months ago.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. You also need Node.js on your computer.

What can I use instead?

Quick Start

# Claude Code

claude mcp add graph-aave -- npx -y graph-aave-mcp

Set Graph API key for subgraph tools (V4 tools work without it)

export GRAPH_API_KEY=your-key-here

Optional but recommended: the two live on-chain tools read via RPC, and the

unconfigured public fallback is rate-limited or blocked on many networks.

export ETHEREUM_RPC_URL=https://your-endpoint

Claude Desktop / Cursor config

Free Graph API key: thegraph.com/studio (100K queries/month free tier).

Hosted deployment (no install): Fronteir AI

V2/V3 Tools (The Graph Subgraphs)

15 tools + 1 raw query escape hatch. Requires GRAPH_API_KEY.

Response size. get_aave_reserves returns every active reserve by default —

on Ethereum that is 67 reserves, ~28k tokens. Pass symbols: ["USDC"] for one

asset (~675 tokens), compact: true for rates only, or limit to cap the rows.

get_v4_reserves takes the same three options.

V4 Omnigraph Tools (subgraph — fills gaps the Aave API doesn't expose)

5 tools powered by the aave-v-4 subgraph (QmcKrCRSPrMABEfQjyPF6DqhbY7zzcEj6h5QxQmKLcHFSs). Requires `GRAPH_API_KEY` (the same free key used by V2/V3 subgraph tools).

These cover what api.aave.com/graphql structurally can't return: Hub↔Spoke flow events, per-user risk-premium trajectories, liquidation post-mortems with full premium-delta context, treasury/fee/deficit accounting, and governance-trail snapshots.

ToolDescription
get_v4_hub_flowsHub↔Spoke routing events (Add, Remove, Draw, Restore, RefreshPremium, ReportDeficit, TransferShares) with AaveKit-joined spoke names and asset symbols

V4 Subgraph Tools — Base (Coinbase tokenized stocks) + Ethereum

6 network-aware tools backed by the Aave V4 subgraph. Default `network: "base"` — the Coinbase Stocks hub on Base (subgraph 9x1tg7KX3RXspnK7R1mahAZsM5gTmFhLrmJSbkoBsDdq). Pass network: "ethereum" for Core/Plus/Prime. Requires `GRAPH_API_KEY`.

ToolDescription
get_v4_recent_liquidationsLiquidations newest-first, filter by liquidator / user / sinceHours; collateral seized, debt restored, shares, premium deltas, per-liquidator counts
get_v4_hub_assetsPer-asset borrow rate %, liquidity fee %, accrued protocol fees, fee receiver, IR strategy
get_v4_config_changesHub↔spoke cap snapshots, reserve config snapshots, liquidation-config snapshots, position-manager whitelist (optional spoke)
get_v4_hub_daily_flowsDaily supplied/withdrawn/borrowed/repaid/deficit per hub asset, optional raw flow events
get_v4_user_activityUser risk premium + history, liquidations suffered, supply/withdraw/borrow/repay/collateral activity
get_v4_treasury_eventsMerged FeeMint / Sweep / Reclaim / DeficitEliminated / ReportDeficit stream

Example: *"Who's liquidating tokenized stocks on Aave V4 Base?"* → get_v4_recent_liquidations. *"What's the USDC borrow rate and fees on the Base stocks hub?"* → get_v4_hub_assets (≈2.1%, 10% liquidity fee).

V4 Architecture
Hubs (Core, Plus, Prime)

└── Assets (WETH, USDC, GHO, cbBTC, etc.) └── Spokes (Main, Bluechip, Kelp, Lido, Ethena, ...) └── Reserves (per-spoke lending markets) └── User Positions (health factor, collateral, debt)

V4 enables cross-chain lending: supply on one spoke, borrow on another. Hubs aggregate liquidity across spokes.
