MCP YouTube Transcript
An MCP server retrieving transcripts of YouTube videos
Description from the maker (original English)
Write posts in your voice from what's going viral in your niche. Schedule to X, LinkedIn and more.
These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.
We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

search-viral-tweetsFind high-performing public X posts in Postel's index by topic, with source links and stored engagement metrics. No login required. Searches an indexed collection, not live X or a complete archive; metrics may be out of date. Results contain third-party post text.
list-postsList posts for the current organization. Supports filtering by status and pagination.
get-postGet a single post by ID with full details.
create-postSave text as a new draft in Postel, optionally with images or videos downloaded from public URLs and a LinkedIn first comment (up to 1250 characters). Does not publish or schedule. Each call creates a separate draft. Drafts are free on every plan.
update-postUpdate the content or status of a Postel draft. Scheduled and published posts cannot be edited.
delete-postDelete a post. A scheduled post's delivery is cancelled first.
schedule-postSchedule a Postel draft for publishing to the social platform stored on the post. scheduledDateTime must be a future UTC ISO-8601 timestamp. A first comment can be set for LinkedIn posts. Scheduling and publishing depend on the account's Postel plan; a workspace without one can s
publish-postPublish a Postel draft immediately to the social platform stored on the post. A post that is already published cannot be published again. Scheduling and publishing depend on the account's Postel plan; a workspace without one can schedule or publish a limited number of posts, and
create-postsCreate up to 25 posts in one call. Each post is saved as a draft; a post with scheduledDateTime is then scheduled for publishing to its platform. Scheduling and publishing depend on the account's Postel plan; a workspace without one can schedule or publish a limited number of pos
attach-mediaDownload an image or video from a public URL and attach it to a Postel draft. Supported: JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, MP4, MOV and WebM, up to 100 MB and within the platform's limits (X: up to 4 images, or one video or GIF; LinkedIn: up to 20 images, or one video). Scheduled and publish
generate-postGenerate a new post using AI based on a prompt and save it as a draft, ready for update-post, schedule-post or publish-post. Uses 1 AI credit (Lite mode with a daily cap when credits run out). Returns the generated post.
refine-postSuggest refined content for an existing post using AI and specific instructions. Does not save changes. Uses 1 AI credit (Lite mode with a daily cap when credits run out).
list-brandsList all brands (topics) for the current organization. Brands contain background information used for AI post generation.
get-brand-sourcesGet background information sources for a specific brand. These sources are used to inform AI post generation.
get-x-profilesGet the X and LinkedIn voice profiles for the current organization. These profiles define the brand voice for AI post generation.
get-scheduleGet the posting schedule template for the current organization. Shows which time slots are configured for each day of the week.
get-usageGet the organization's AI credit balance (monthly allowance, rollover, bonus/top-ups, reset date) and Lite mode status.

It passed 3 of 3 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.
The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.
It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.
The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.2.0) reached the registry 2 days ago.
Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

Find what's going viral in your niche, write your version in your own voice, and schedule it, without leaving Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client.
Postel is an AI writing and scheduling tool for people who post as themselves: founders, consultants and creators. This repository holds the public side of its hosted MCP server: setup for every client, the Claude Code plugin, the Gemini CLI extension, an agent skill and the MCP Registry entry. The server runs at https://www.postel.app/api/mcp; there is nothing to install or host.

Before your first post, connect your networks in Postel under Settings > Channels. Research works right away; drafting, scheduling and publishing need a Postel account.
Open Postel in Claude's connector directory, click Connect and sign in to Postel. Or add it by hand: Customize > Connectors, +, Add custom connector, enter https://www.postel.app/api/mcp.
/plugin marketplace add robinfaraj/postel-mcp
/plugin install postel@postel
Then run /mcp and sign in to Postel. The plugin adds the server and the postel-writing skill, which teaches Claude the research, drafting and scheduling workflow. Without the plugin:
claude mcp add --transport http postel https://www.postel.app/api/mcp
Add --scope user to use it in every project, or --header "Authorization: Bearer pstl_YOUR_API_KEY" to use an API key instead of signing in.
Click Add to Cursor above, or add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or .cursor/mcp.json in a project):
{
"mcpServers": { "postel": { "url": "https://www.postel.app/api/mcp" } } }
Cursor runs the sign-in the first time a tool needs your account. To use an API key, add "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer pstl_YOUR_API_KEY" }.
Click Install in VS Code above, or add this to .vscode/mcp.json:
{
"servers": { "postel": { "type": "http", "url": "https://www.postel.app/api/mcp" } } }
gemini extensions install https://github.com/robinfaraj/postel-mcp
Then run /mcp auth postel inside Gemini CLI to sign in. The extension adds the server and a short GEMINI.md with the same workflow rules as the skill.
codex mcp add postel --url https://www.postel.app/api/mcp
codex mcp login postel
hermes plugins install postel --enable
hermes mcp add postel --url https://www.postel.app/api/mcp --auth oauth --connect-timeout 300
The plugin (agent-plugin/, a portable Agent Plugins v1 package) adds the server and the postel-writing skill, and asks Hermes to confirm every tool that isn't read-only. The second command signs you in. Until the plugin is in your Hermes catalog, the second command alone gives you the tools.
The same agent-plugin/ folder works as a Perplexity Computer custom plugin (Plugins, Add custom, paste this repository's URL) and as a NanoClaw template.
dsh plugin --profile web add "github:robinfaraj/postel-mcp#path:/plugins/dsh-postel"
Research works without a key. To draft and schedule, set POSTEL_API_KEY before starting dsh. Details: plugins/dsh-postel.
In Kimi Code, run /plugins install https://github.com/robinfaraj/postel-mcp, then /reload and /mcp-config login postel to sign in. The plugin (kimi.plugin.json) adds the server and the postel-writing skill.
grok plugin marketplace add robinfaraj/postel-mcp
grok plugin install postel --trust
In ChatGPT, open Settings > Apps & Connectors > Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode, then Create a connector with the URL https://www.postel.app/api/mcp and OAuth sign-in. OpenAI decides which plans can use custom connectors that write (draft, schedule, publish); at the time of writing that is Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces, while research works more widely. Step-by-step: connect ChatGPT to LinkedIn and to X.
Any client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP works. Point it at https://www.postel.app/api/mcp and let it run the OAuth sign-in, or send Authorization: Bearer pstl_YOUR_API_KEY. Windsurf names the field serverUrl instead of url. For a client that only runs local servers, use a bridge such as npx mcp-remote https://www.postel.app/api/mcp.
Create an API key in Postel under Settings > API Keys. Keys start with pstl_ and belong to one workspace.
Two plain Agent Skills for any agent that reads SKILL.md files:
postel-writing (in skills/): how to research, write for each network and confirm before scheduling or publishing, using the MCP server above.postel-api (in .agents/skills/): the same workflow over Postel's REST API with curl and a POSTEL_API_KEY, for agents without MCP support.npx skills add robinfaraj/postel-mcp
17 tools. search-viral-tweets works without an account; the rest need a signed-in Postel account or an API key. Every tool carries a title and read-only or destructive hints, so your client can ask before anything is scheduled, published or deleted.
