Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

Reverse-engineering tools for agents over MCP/A2A, with evidence-carrying findings.

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

  • Connection: Runs on your computer
  • Transport: stdio
  • Category: Other

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 1 of 1 passed
  • Runs on your computer with your user’s permissions (files, network, apps).
  • The registry lists no key to fill in.

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Download the maker’s .mcpb file

The link goes to the maker’s own file; we do not host or repackage it. Open the file and Claude Desktop installs it.

Run this in your terminal

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

This one runs on your computer, and ChatGPT can only connect to servers on the internet. Pick another app.

These settings are generated from the maker’s registry entry. If the README says otherwise, follow the README.

Common questions

Is Fathom safe?

It passed 1 of 1 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs on your computer. Your AI app starts it when needed, and data does not pass through the maker’s servers (unless it calls an online service itself).

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.0.0) reached the registry 3 days ago.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. You also need MCPB on your computer.

What can I use instead?

fathom

Current release: 1.0.0 (2026-10-29). Deferred items are listed in COMPLIANCE.md; release history in CHANGELOG.md.

Clean-room reverse-engineering MCP, written in Rust: one provider-neutral MCP server for reverse engineering — native binaries, JavaScript/Electron applications, .NET assemblies, web captures, EVM bytecode, and process behavior — where every result is an evidence envelope that states what was observed, what was derived, what was not examined, and what the provider cannot establish.

The design is specified in SPEC.md: capability inventory mapped from upstream's public contracts, per-capability Rust strategy, evidence and error models, a deterministic fail-closed policy engine, and the staging plan. Design source: morluto/rea (MIT), credited in NOTICE; no upstream code is used.

Why clean-room Rust

Upstream REA is TypeScript/Node distributed through npm. Fathom exists to keep the capability on a Rust-first, pinned, auditable supply chain — the estate's standing direction (SPEC §1).

Shape

  • fathom-core — config, error contracts, evidence model, policy, tool registry, confinement, bounded processes.
  • fathom-mcp-server — MCP stdio + streamable HTTP transports.
  • fathom-a2a — signed A2A agent card (JCS + Ed25519).
  • fathom-native — Ghidra headless provider + binary layout (goblin).
  • fathom-js — JavaScript/Electron static analysis (oxc) + ASAR.
  • fathom-managed — .NET PE/CLI metadata (manual ECMA-335).
  • fathom-observe — process capture, HAR reading, EVM selectors.
  • fathom-cli — the fathom binary (serve, card, doctor, one-shot analysis).

Build

nix build # or: nix develop, then cargo build --workspace

cargo test --workspace
