Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

Make, find, pause and track short links and QR codes from your AI assistant.

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 3 of 3 passed
  • Runs on the maker’s server: what you ask it goes through their server.
  • The registry lists no key to fill in.

You need

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile:

  1. Open Settings → Connectors
  2. Press Add custom connector
  3. Paste the address below and press Add
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Add2https://…3
https://rus.sh/mcp

Run this in your terminal

claude mcp add --transport http rus https://rus.sh/mcp

Open in Cursor

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "rus": {
      "url": "https://rus.sh/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{
  "servers": {
    "rus": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://rus.sh/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

ChatGPT connects only to servers on the internet:

  1. Open ChatGPT on the web → Settings → Connectors (Apps)
  2. Press Create or Add (some plans need Developer mode under Advanced first)
  3. Paste the address below, give it a name and save
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Create2https://…3
https://rus.sh/mcp

Menu names can differ slightly by plan and over time.

Your choice stays on this device in a cookie; no account needed.

These settings are generated from the maker’s registry entry. If the README says otherwise, follow the README.

What it can do

The server asks you to sign in before it lists its tools.

Basic checksi

Common questions

Is Rus.sh safe?

It passed 3 of 3 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (2.0.0) reached the registry 8 days ago.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?

Rus.sh MCP server

Make, find, pause and track short links and QR codes from your AI assistant.

Rus.sh is a link shortener with QR codes and click analytics. Its MCP server is hosted, so you don't install or run anything: add the address below to your assistant and sign in.

https://rus.sh/mcp
  • Transport: Streamable HTTP
  • Sign-in: OAuth 2.1. Your assistant opens Rus.sh, you sign in and choose what it may do. An API key also works.
  • Plans: every plan, including Free.
  • MCP Registry: sh.rus/mcp

What your assistant can do

Look things upMake new links and QR codesChange and undo
Get account (what it can use and this month's usage), list links, get link, list QR codes, get QR code, get a QR code image (a link that expires after about 10 minutes), get account / link / QR code analyticsCreate link; create QR code (web address, WiFi, email, phone call or text message)Update link; archive, restore, pause and resume links; update a QR code's title, look or content; archive and restore QR codes

The assistant works within the permissions you approve and can never permanently delete anything. Every change can be undone.

Connect your assistant

Step-by-step guides with copy buttons are at [rus.sh/pages/ai](https://rus.sh/pages/ai). Signed-in users also have them under user menu → Connect an AI app, which can create an API key and fill it into each command.

Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop): Customize → Connectors → Add → Add custom connector. Name it Rus.sh, paste https://rus.sh/mcp, then choose Add and Connect.

ChatGPT: Plugins → Add → Add custom MCP server. Name it Rus.sh, keep OAuth, paste https://rus.sh/mcp, then create it and connect.

Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http -s user rus-sh https://rus.sh/mcp

Then type /mcp in Claude Code, choose rus-sh and sign in.

Cursor: use Add to Cursor on rus.sh/pages/ai, or add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:

{ "mcpServers": { "rus-sh": { "url": "https://rus.sh/mcp" } } }

VS Code: use Add to VS Code on rus.sh/pages/ai, or add this to .vscode/mcp.json:

{ "servers": { "rus-sh": { "type": "http", "url": "https://rus.sh/mcp" } } }

Codex:

codex mcp add rus-sh --url https://rus.sh/mcp

codex mcp login rus-sh

Antigravity CLI: its own sign-in does not work with Rus.sh yet, so connect it with an API key. Create one in Rus.sh under user menu → Connect an AI app → Antigravity CLI → Use an API key, then copy the filled-in command:

agy mcp add --header "Authorization: Bearer <your key>" rus-sh https://rus.sh/mcp

Gemini CLI (Gemini Code Assist licences):

gemini extensions install https://github.com/sweenttech/rus-sh-mcp

With an API key instead of signing in: create a key at rus.sh/app/api-keys and send it as Authorization: Bearer .
