Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

Find the right AI tool or MCP connector for a task; sourced directory of real AI-built apps.

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

  • Connection: Runs in the cloud
  • Transport: Streamable HTTP
  • Category: Docs, sheets & office work

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

You need

  1. Open Settings → Connectors
  2. Press Add custom connector
  3. Paste the address below and press Add
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Add2https://…3

Run this in your terminal

claude mcp add --transport http vibeshipped https://vibeshipped.io/api/mcp

Open in Cursor

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "vibeshipped": {
      "url": "https://vibeshipped.io/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{
  "servers": {
    "vibeshipped": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://vibeshipped.io/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

ChatGPT connects only to servers on the internet:

  1. Open ChatGPT on the web → Settings → Connectors (Apps)
  2. Press Create or Add (some plans need Developer mode under Advanced first)
  3. Paste the address below, give it a name and save
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker

What it can do

Tool names and descriptions exactly as the server reported them on Nov 6, 2026. The maker wrote them, not us; we show them as plain text.

  • find_tool_for_task

    Find or search for an MCP server, connector, integration, agent or skill for a task (e.g. query Postgres, automate a browser, take payments, send email). Returns the top 3 verified working options with a one-line install, in about 3 KB. Example: {"task":"query a Postgres database

  • recommend_stack

    Use when the user wants to build an app and asks which AI coding tool or app builder to use (Cursor, Claude Code, Lovable, Bolt, Replit, v0...). Returns ranked picks with pricing and real example apps. Example: {"idea":"habit tracker mobile app"}

  • compare_tools

    Use when the user asks to compare AI coding tools, app builders or agents ('X vs Y'). Returns sourced pricing, licence and features side by side. Example: {"tools":["cursor","claude-code"]}

  • get_tool

    Use when you need current pricing or facts for one AI coding tool or agent harness by slug (cursor, claude-code, lovable, cline...). Example: {"slug":"cursor"}

  • get_tool_trends

    Use when asked which MCP servers are most reliable, biggest, or best for Postgres, payments, browser or GitHub. Live nightly-probe counts. No arguments needed. Example: {} or {"section":"compare"}

  • search_apps

    Use when the user wants real apps built with AI tools, by keyword, tool or category. Example: {"q":"fitness","tool":"lovable"}

  • whats_new

    Use when asked what changed recently in AI coding tools, harnesses or apps. No arguments needed. Example: {} or {"since":"2026-10-20"}

  • get_app

    Use when you have an app slug from search_apps and need its source, stack and stated revenue. Example: {"slug":"stella"}

  • submit_app

    Use only when the user asks to add their app built with AI to Vibe Shipped. Example: {"title":"My App","url":"https://...","source_url":"https://..."}

Common questions

Is Vibe Shipped safe?

It passed 3 of 3 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.11.1) reached the registry yesterday.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?

Vibe Shipped agent plugin & MCP server

Vibe Shipped is a daily, sourced directory of real apps people shipped with AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Lovable, Bolt, Replit, v0, Windsurf and more), plus AI build tools with dated official pricing, coding-agent harnesses and frameworks, revenue rankings (The Vibe Shipped 50) and a what's-new feed. Every entry links to its public source.

This repo holds the plugin, extension and config files so you can use Vibe Shipped from your coding agent. It does not contain the site source.

Hermes Agent

Add this to ~/.hermes/config.yaml, then restart Hermes (tools show up as mcp_vibeshipped_ ):

mcp_servers:

Drop the exclude line if you want the two write tools. Install the skill too:

hermes skills install well-known:https://vibeshipped.io/.well-known/skills/vibeshipped

Results come back as JSON: the text block is an exact copy of structuredContent, with a one-line summary first, so Hermes keeps one copy instead of two.

Tools (9 listed)

Start with find_tool_for_task {"task":"query a Postgres database"}: top 3 verified, installable MCP servers, agents or skills in about 3 KB.

Read-only: find_tool_for_task, recommend_stack, compare_tools, get_tool, get_tool_trends, search_apps, whats_new, get_app. Write (only on the user's request): submit_app. Older tool names (list_tools, top_tools, get_vibe50, list_agent_tools, list_harnesses, get_harness, latest_apps, subscribe_newsletter, get_sponsorship_info) still work but are no longer listed.

A2A agent card: https://vibeshipped.io/.well-known/agent-card.json

Writes: submit_app (adds an app to a review queue) and subscribe_newsletter (only with the user's own email).

Changelog

  • v1.10.0 (2026-10-28): shorter tool list (9 listed, older names still callable), every description starts with when to call it, find_tool_for_task accepts any client name and answers with examples when called without a task, new server instructions, install snippets for Windsurf and Cline.
  • v1.8.0 (2026-10-27): new find_tool_for_task (task, optional client): top 3 MCP servers, agents or skills verified working, each with source, last verified date and a paste-ready install snippet. Backed by the new directory at https://vibeshipped.io/directory (remote MCP servers probed daily with initialize and tools/list only). 17 tools.
  • v1.7.1 (2026-10-22): Hermes Agent support. Tool results are JSON (text = exact copy of structuredContent, with a summary line), smaller default list sizes with limit on list_agent_tools and list_harnesses, and a well-known skills index at https://vibeshipped.io/.well-known/skills/index.json.
  • v1.5.0 (2026-10-19): new recommend_stack and get_tool; compare_tools now takes 2-4 slugs across build tools, harnesses and Agent Toolbox entries. A2A agent card published. 16 tools.
  • v1.4.0: 14 tools.
