Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

Smart lists and reminders your AI can use. Manage lists, categories, and reminders via MCP.

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

  • Connection: Runs on your computer
  • Transport: stdio
  • Category: Other

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 1 of 1 passed
  • Runs on your computer with your user’s permissions (files, network, apps).
  • The registry lists no key to fill in.

You need

  • npmNode.js installed (for the npx command)

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Open Claude Desktop → Settings → Developer → Edit Config, and paste this into claude_desktop_config.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "lystbot": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "lystbot",
        "mcp"
      ]
    }
  }
}

Run this in your terminal

claude mcp add lystbot -- npx -y lystbot mcp

Open in Cursor

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "lystbot": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "lystbot",
        "mcp"
      ]
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{
  "servers": {
    "lystbot": {
      "type": "stdio",
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "lystbot",
        "mcp"
      ]
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Common questions

Is Lystbot safe?

It passed 1 of 1 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs on your computer. Your AI app starts it when needed, and data does not pass through the maker’s servers (unless it calls an online service itself).

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (0.4.1) reached the registry 10 days ago.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. You also need Node.js on your computer.

What can I use instead?

LystBot CLI & MCP server

Smart lists and reminders that your AI can actually use.

CLI

npx lystbot login <your-api-key>

npx lystbot lists npx lystbot add "Groceries" "Milk, Eggs, Butter" npx lystbot add "Groceries" "250g Mehl; 3x Milch; 3 Bananen; 2 Flaschen Wein" npx lystbot add "Groceries" "Mehl" --quantity 2 --unit "500g" npx lystbot check "Groceries" "Milk"

Categories

npx lystbot categories "Groceries" npx lystbot category add "Groceries" "Fruits" npx lystbot add "Groceries" "Bananas" --category "Fruits" npx lystbot move "Groceries" "Bananas" --category other

Attachments

npx lystbot attach-image "Groceries" "Milk" ./photo.jpg npx lystbot attach-url "Groceries" "Milk" "https://example.com" "Recipe" npx lystbot attachments "Groceries" "Milk" npx lystbot detach

Reminders

npx lystbot reminders npx lystbot reminder npx lystbot remind "Take vitamins" --at "tomorrow 09:00" --timezone "Europe/Berlin" npx lystbot reminder-update --title "Take supplements" npx lystbot reminder-update --at "tomorrow 09:00" --enabled npx lystbot reminder-update --disabled npx lystbot reminder-delete --yes

The CLI turns natural prefixes into structured fields. 250g Mehl becomes text Mehl with quantity 1 and unit 250g. 3x Milch and 3 Bananen get quantity 3. 2 Flaschen Wein gets unit 2 Flaschen. Separate items with , or ;. --quantity takes a whole number from 1 to 99, and --quantity and --unit only work when you add a single item.

MCP server (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Devin Desktop)

The CLI includes an MCP server. After login, configure your client to run npx with args ["lystbot", "mcp"] (npx lystbot mcp):

Claude Desktop

Add this to ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json (macOS) or %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json (Windows):

{

"mcpServers": { "lystbot": { "command": "npx", "args": ["lystbot", "mcp"] } } }

Cursor / Devin Desktop

Add this to .cursor/mcp.json (Cursor) or ~/.config/devin/mcp_config.json (Devin Desktop, formerly Windsurf):

{

"mcpServers": { "lystbot": { "command": "npx", "args": ["lystbot", "mcp"] } } }

Setup
  1. Install the app: lystbot.com
  2. Copy your API key from Settings → AI Agents
  3. Run npx lystbot login
  4. Add the MCP config above
  5. Ask Claude: "What's on my grocery list?"

Natural strings such as 3 Bananen become quantity 3 with unit null. For precise calls, add_items also accepts structured input such as [{"text":"Mehl","quantity":2,"unit":"500g"}]. Weight is a unit: 250g means quantity 1 and unit 250g, never quantity 250.
