Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

Shared lists for the circles you belong to. Assistants see only the tasks you can.

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 0 of 1 passed
  • Runs on the maker’s server: what you ask it goes through their server.
  • The registry lists no key to fill in.

You need

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile:

  1. Open Settings → Connectors
  2. Press Add custom connector
  3. Paste the address below and press Add
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Add2https://…3
https://mcp.troving.app/mcp

Run this in your terminal

claude mcp add --transport http trove https://mcp.troving.app/mcp

Open in Cursor

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "trove": {
      "url": "https://mcp.troving.app/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{
  "servers": {
    "trove": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.troving.app/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

ChatGPT connects only to servers on the internet:

  1. Open ChatGPT on the web → Settings → Connectors (Apps)
  2. Press Create or Add (some plans need Developer mode under Advanced first)
  3. Paste the address below, give it a name and save
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Create2https://…3
https://mcp.troving.app/mcp

Menu names can differ slightly by plan and over time.

Your choice stays on this device in a cookie; no account needed.

These settings are generated from the maker’s registry entry. If the README says otherwise, follow the README.

What it can do

We have not read this server’s tool list yet; we check endpoints in rotation.

Common questions

Is Trove safe?

It passed 0 of 1 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.1.1) reached the registry 31 days ago.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?

Trove

Everything that's yours, from every circle.

Shared lists for the circles you belong to, and one personal view of the work that is actually yours.

Most of us don't belong to one team. We belong to a household, a garden crew, a choir, a side project, a volunteer circle. The work is scattered across those circles, and no tool shows everything that is yours in one place. Trove is built for that.

Make a circle for each part of your life. Everyone in the circle sees the whole shared list. Mine gathers the tasks assigned to you from every circle you have joined, so the same person, in the same circles, still has their own pile.

Get it out of the chat, and onto a list you can actually see.

What you get

  • A circle for every part of life. Home, garden, choir, crew, team. Each with its own accent colour, members, and roles (owner, admin, member, viewer).
  • Today, just for you. A private checklist for the day, above Mine. Write a line, or pull in a task. Work from the top. Switch to tomorrow to plan the evening before. It is never shared with a circle.
  • Mine, across every circle. The Mine view is every task assigned to you, from every circle you have joined. A circle's own board stays the full shared list.
  • A board that fits the screen. On a wide window, To do, In progress, and Done sit in columns. Drag a card between them on the web. On a phone, open work stays one list: an in-progress task keeps its place, with a small tag on the card, and a swipe changes it. Same code, same data.
  • Invites that just work. Invite by email, share a link, they land in the right circle with the right role. Free, no per-person cost.
  • Real-life tasks. Notes, priority, due dates, assignees, and photos or videos on any task.
  • A private circle that stays private. Every account starts with a Personal circle. Nobody sees it until you invite someone. That is not a setting, it is the security model.
  • Confetti. Finish something, get confetti. Small joys matter.

The one rule

Trove's visibility is not a UI filter. It is one rule, enforced by the database:

You can see or change a task only if you are a member of its circle.

That rule is a Postgres Row Level Security policy (see supabase/migrations), so it holds for every query the app can possibly make, on every platform. Membership is the boundary. Mine is an extra filter on top of that: tasks where you are the assignee. It does not hide other people's tasks on a circle board you belong to.

Built with

One TypeScript codebase, three platforms (iOS, Android, web):

  • Expo SDK 56 / React Native 0.85, with Expo Router for file-based navigation
  • Supabase: Postgres, Auth, Row Level Security, Storage
  • TanStack Query for data and mutations
  • Reanimated + Gesture Handler for the drag, swipe, and splash animations
  • react-native-fast-confetti (Skia) on native, canvas-confetti on web
  • Fraunces + Hanken Grotesk, and a warm hand-rolled design system
  • EAS for builds and deployment

Run it locally

You'll need Node 20+ and a Supabase project. Apply the SQL in supabase/migrations in filename order, then set the Auth redirects described in supabase/README.md. supabase/seed.sql is local demo data only.

Create a .env in the project root:

EXPO_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_URL=your-project-url

EXPO_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_ANON_KEY=your-publishable-key

Then:

npm install

npx expo start --web # web, at localhost:8081 npx expo run:ios # iOS simulator (dev build; Expo Go won't cover the native modules)

Contributing

Issues and pull requests are welcome. Keep the tone of the product in mind: warm, plain, human. If you're proposing a feature, open an issue first so we can talk it through. Run npm test and npm run typecheck before pushing.
