Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

Generate PDFs and images from CraftMyPDF templates; read templates, versions and usage.

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 3 of 3 passed
  • Runs on the maker’s server: what you ask it goes through their server.
  • Can do 11 things (tools) craftmypdf_get_account_info, craftmypdf_list_transactions, craftmypdf_list_templates, craftmypdf_get_template …
  • The registry lists no key to fill in.

You need

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile:

  1. Open Settings → Connectors
  2. Press Add custom connector
  3. Paste the address below and press Add
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Add2https://…3
https://craftmypdf.usefulapi.io/mcp

Run this in your terminal

claude mcp add --transport http craftmypdf https://craftmypdf.usefulapi.io/mcp

Open in Cursor

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "craftmypdf": {
      "url": "https://craftmypdf.usefulapi.io/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{
  "servers": {
    "craftmypdf": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://craftmypdf.usefulapi.io/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

ChatGPT connects only to servers on the internet:

  1. Open ChatGPT on the web → Settings → Connectors (Apps)
  2. Press Create or Add (some plans need Developer mode under Advanced first)
  3. Paste the address below, give it a name and save
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker

What it can do

Tool names and descriptions exactly as the server reported them on Nov 6, 2026. The maker wrote them, not us; we show them as plain text.

  • craftmypdf_get_account_info

    The CraftMyPDF account behind the API key: username, quota used (quota_counter) and quota total (quota_max), template count and limit, creation date. Check the quota before generating many documents. GET /get-account-info.

  • craftmypdf_list_transactions

    Recent generation transactions of the account, newest first: transaction_ref, type (PDFGEN, PDFPREVIEW, ...), execution time, credits used, time, file size and result status. Use it to see what was billed. GET /list-transactions.

  • craftmypdf_list_templates

    List the PDF/image templates of the account: template_id, name, status, group, created and updated time. The template_id is what the generation tools need. Read only; templates cannot be edited here. GET /list-templates.

  • craftmypdf_get_template

    One template: its name and the sample JSON data it expects (the placeholders to fill when generating). The full layout body is only returned with include_body (it can be very large and is cut). GET /get-template.

  • craftmypdf_list_template_versions

    The saved versions of a template (version number, description, time, whether it is retained). Use a version number when generating to pin the layout. GET /list-template-versions.

  • craftmypdf_query_template_usage

    Usage statistics (how many generations) of up to 20 templates within an optional date range. Dates are ISO 8601 UTC date-times such as 2026-10-01T00:00:00Z. GET /query-template-usage.

  • craftmypdf_get_pdf_info

    Metadata of a PDF that CraftMyPDF downloads from a public https URL: page count, title, author, creator, producer, dates. May count against the account's rate limit. GET /get-pdf-info.

  • craftmypdf_create_pdf

    WRITE: uses the CraftMyPDF account's own quota (credits; a successful generation is a billable transaction, typically 1 credit per document, and every call counts even with identical data). Generate ONE PDF from a template and your JSON data. Returns a hosted file URL (never file

  • craftmypdf_create_image

    WRITE: uses the CraftMyPDF account's own quota (credits; a successful generation is a billable transaction, typically 1 credit per document, and every call counts even with identical data). Generate ONE image (JPEG or PNG) from a template and your JSON data. Returns a hosted file

  • craftmypdf_create_pdf_from_templates

    WRITE: uses the CraftMyPDF account's own quota (credits; a successful generation is a billable transaction, typically 1 credit per document, and every call counts even with identical data). Generate ONE combined PDF from 2-10 templates, each with its own data (or the shared `data

  • craftmypdf_merge_pdfs

    WRITE: uses the CraftMyPDF account's own quota (credits; a successful generation is a billable transaction, typically 1 credit per document, and every call counts even with identical data). Merge 2-10 existing PDFs, given as public https URLs, into ONE PDF. CraftMyPDF downloads t

Common questions

Is CraftMyPDF MCP by usefulapi safe?

It passed 3 of 3 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.22.3) reached the registry yesterday.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?

CraftMyPDF MCP by usefulapi

Use CraftMyPDF from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client — templates, versions, usage and transactions, plus PDF and image generation and PDF merges. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own CraftMyPDF credentials.

Live endpoint: https://craftmypdf.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io/craftmypdf

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://craftmypdf.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http craftmypdf https://craftmypdf.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
{

"mcpServers": { "craftmypdf": { "url": "https://craftmypdf.usefulapi.io/mcp" } } }

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your CraftMyPDF credentials.
