Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

Read iContact contacts, lists, campaigns and message stats; add contacts and manage subscriptions.

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 3 of 3 passed
  • Runs on the maker’s server: what you ask it goes through their server.
  • Can do 20 things (tools) icontact_get_account, icontact_list_contacts, icontact_get_contact, icontact_create_contact …
  • The registry lists no key to fill in.

You need

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile:

  1. Open Settings → Connectors
  2. Press Add custom connector
  3. Paste the address below and press Add
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Add2https://…3
https://icontact.usefulapi.io/mcp

Run this in your terminal

claude mcp add --transport http icontact https://icontact.usefulapi.io/mcp

Open in Cursor

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "icontact": {
      "url": "https://icontact.usefulapi.io/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{
  "servers": {
    "icontact": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://icontact.usefulapi.io/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

ChatGPT connects only to servers on the internet:

  1. Open ChatGPT on the web → Settings → Connectors (Apps)
  2. Press Create or Add (some plans need Developer mode under Advanced first)
  3. Paste the address below, give it a name and save
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Create2https://…3
https://icontact.usefulapi.io/mcp

Menu names can differ slightly by plan and over time.

Your choice stays on this device in a cookie; no account needed.

These settings are generated from the maker’s registry entry. If the README says otherwise, follow the README.

What it can do

Tool names and descriptions exactly as the server reported them on Nov 6, 2026. The maker wrote them, not us; we show them as plain text.

  • icontact_get_account

    The iContact account behind the credentials (company name, address, plan fields) and its client folders, with the folder this server uses. GET /a/ and GET /a/{accountId}/c/.

  • icontact_list_contacts

    List contacts (email, name, address, phone, status, create date). Filter by status, exact email, first/last name or a list the contact belongs to. GET /contacts.

  • icontact_get_contact

    One contact by id. GET /contacts/{contactId}.

  • icontact_create_contact

    WRITE: add one contact to the account (it is not added to any list; use icontact_set_subscription for that). Not idempotent: an email that already exists is reported by iContact as a warning. POST /contacts.

  • icontact_update_contact

    WRITE: change fields of one contact; only the fields you pass are sent. Setting status to donotcontact or deleted stops mail to that contact. POST /contacts/{contactId}.

  • icontact_list_lists

    List the account's mailing lists (name, description, welcome-message settings). GET /lists.

  • icontact_get_list

    One mailing list by id. GET /lists/{listId}.

  • icontact_list_subscriptions

    List list memberships (subscriptionId, contactId, listId, status). Filter by list, contact or status. GET /subscriptions.

  • icontact_set_subscription

    WRITE: put a contact on a list (status normal, or pending to start double opt-in) or unsubscribe it (status unsubscribed). Only for contacts who agreed to receive mail. POST /subscriptions.

  • icontact_list_campaigns

    List campaigns (the sender identity and settings that messages belong to). GET /campaigns.

  • icontact_get_campaign

    One campaign by id. GET /campaigns/{campaignId}.

  • icontact_list_messages

    List messages (subject, type, campaign, create date, HTML and text bodies). Filter by type or campaign. GET /messages.

  • icontact_get_message

    One message by id, with subject and HTML/text bodies. GET /messages/{messageId}.

  • icontact_get_message_statistics

    Delivery statistics of a message (released, bounces, opens, clicks, unsubscribes, complaints, forwards). GET /messages/{messageId}/statistics.

  • icontact_list_message_activity

    Who opened, clicked, bounced from or unsubscribed after a message: one page of events for one message. GET /messages/{messageId}/opens | clicks | bounces | unsubscribes.

  • icontact_list_sends

    List sends (a message sent to lists/segments: send id, message id, included/excluded lists, scheduled time, status). GET /sends.

  • icontact_get_send

    One send by id. GET /sends/{sendId}.

  • icontact_list_segments

    List saved segments (rule-based groups of contacts). GET /segments.

  • icontact_get_segment

    One segment by id. GET /segments/{segmentId}.

  • icontact_list_custom_fields

    List the account's custom contact fields (name, type). GET /customfields.

Common questions

Is iContact MCP by usefulapi safe?

It passed 3 of 3 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.14.3) reached the registry yesterday.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?

iContact MCP by usefulapi

Use iContact from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client — work with your contacts, lists, messages and reports. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own iContact credentials.

Live endpoint: https://icontact.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io/icontact

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://icontact.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http icontact https://icontact.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
{

"mcpServers": { "icontact": { "url": "https://icontact.usefulapi.io/mcp" } } }

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your iContact credentials.

Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/icontact/

On first connect you'll enter your iContact application id, username and API password (iContact's API Developer Portal). They are validated, stored per-user, and scoped to you — no keys in config files.
