Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

Read email/chat conversations, messages, contacts and teams; draft, send and update threads.

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

  • Connection: Runs in the cloud
  • Transport: Streamable HTTP
  • Category: Chat & email

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 3 of 3 passed
  • Runs on the maker’s server: what you ask it goes through their server.
  • Can do 19 things (tools) missive_list_conversations, missive_get_conversation, missive_list_conversation_messages, missive_get_message …
  • The registry lists no key to fill in.

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{

What it can do

Tool names and descriptions exactly as the server reported them on Nov 6, 2026. The maker wrote them, not us; we show them as plain text.

  • missive_list_conversations

    List conversations (email/chat threads). Missive requires EXACTLY ONE mailbox-type filter — one of inbox / assigned / closed / flagged / snoozed / trashed / all / shared_label / team_inbox / team_all / organization. Missive: GET /conversations.

  • missive_get_conversation

Get a single conversation by id. Missive: GET /conversations/{id}.

  • missive_list_conversation_messages

List the messages (emails) in a conversation. Missive: GET /conversations/{id}/messages.

  • missive_get_message

Get a single message, including the full body. Missive: GET /conversations/{conversation_id}/messages/{id}.

  • missive_list_conversation_comments

List internal comments (team chat) on a conversation. Missive: GET /conversations/{id}/comments.

  • missive_list_conversation_drafts

List draft messages on a conversation. Missive: GET /conversations/{id}/drafts.

  • missive_list_conversation_posts

List posts (integration/app-generated items) on a conversation. Missive: GET /conversations/{id}/posts.

  • missive_list_contacts

List contacts in a contact book. Missive: GET /contacts.

  • missive_get_contact

Get a single contact by id. Missive: GET /contacts/{id}.

  • missive_list_contact_books

List contact books (address books). Missive: GET /contact_books.

  • missive_list_contact_groups

List contact groups or organizations within a contact book. Missive: GET /contact_groups.

List teams in the organization(s). Missive: GET /teams.

  • missive_list_users

List users (team members). Missive: GET /users.

  • missive_list_shared_labels

List shared labels (team-shared folders/tags). Missive: GET /shared_labels.

  • missive_list_organizations

List organizations you belong to. Missive: GET /organizations.

  • missive_list_responses

List canned responses / templates. Missive: GET /responses.

  • missive_create_draft

Create a draft email/message. WARNING: setting send=true SENDS a real email immediately (send_at schedules it) instead of saving a draft. Attach to an existing thread with `conversation`. Missive: POST /drafts.

  • missive_update_conversation

Update a conversation — assign/unassign users, add/remove shared labels, close/reopen, move to inbox, or set subject/color/team. Missive: PATCH /conversations/{id}.

  • missive_create_contact

Create a contact in the given contact book. Missive: POST /contacts.

Common questions

Is Missive MCP by usefulapi safe?

It passed 3 of 3 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.35.3) reached the registry yesterday.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?

Missive MCP by usefulapi

Manage Missive collaborative email and chat from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client — read conversations, messages, comments, drafts and contacts, and create drafts, send email, and update conversations. Hosted, no local install: connect with your Missive API token.

Live endpoint: https://missive.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://missive.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http missive https://missive.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
{

"mcpServers": { "missive": { "url": "https://missive.usefulapi.io/mcp" } } }

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Missive credentials.

Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/missive/

On first connect you'll paste your Missive API token (Missive → Preferences → API → Create a new token; requires a Productive plan). It's validated, stored per-user, and scoped to you — no keys in config files.
