Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

Read Semble patients, bookings, invoices and products; create patients and tasks, label patients.

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 3 of 3 passed
  • Runs on the maker’s server: what you ask it goes through their server.
  • Can do 19 things (tools) semble_get_practice, semble_list_patients, semble_get_patient, semble_list_patient_bookings …
  • The registry lists no key to fill in.

You need

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile:

  1. Open Settings → Connectors
  2. Press Add custom connector
  3. Paste the address below and press Add
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Add2https://…3
https://semble.usefulapi.io/mcp

Run this in your terminal

claude mcp add --transport http semble https://semble.usefulapi.io/mcp

Open in Cursor

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "semble": {
      "url": "https://semble.usefulapi.io/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{
  "servers": {
    "semble": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://semble.usefulapi.io/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

ChatGPT connects only to servers on the internet:

  1. Open ChatGPT on the web → Settings → Connectors (Apps)
  2. Press Create or Add (some plans need Developer mode under Advanced first)
  3. Paste the address below, give it a name and save
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker

These settings are generated from the maker’s registry entry. If the README says otherwise, follow the README.

What it can do

Tool names and descriptions exactly as the server reported them on Nov 6, 2026. The maker wrote them, not us; we show them as plain text.

  • semble_get_practice

    The practice the API token belongs to: name, timezone, locations, appointment types and medical specialties. A good first call to check the connection.

  • semble_list_patients

    Patients of the practice (personal and health data). `search` matches name, email, phone or date of birth. Returns id, name, date of birth, contact details and status, plus pageInfo.hasMore for the next page.

  • semble_get_patient

    One patient by id (personal data): demographics, phones, address, numbers, custom attributes, labels, comments and status. Appointments, invoices and tasks have their own tools.

  • semble_list_patient_bookings

    The bookings (appointments) of one patient between two dates, with doctor, location, appointment type and status. Both dates are required (YYYY-MM-DD).

  • semble_list_bookings

    Bookings (appointments) of the whole practice. With a date range, a booking is included if it starts or ends inside it. Returns patient, doctor, location, appointment type, status and journey (arrived, consultation, departed, dna).

  • semble_get_booking

    One booking by id, with patient, doctor, location, appointment type, status and journey.

  • semble_list_users

    Staff users of the practice (clinicians and admin): name, email, role, qualifications and specialties. Use the ids for bookings and tasks.

  • semble_get_user

    One staff user by id.

  • semble_list_products

    The practice's price list: appointment types, services and stock items, with price, cost, duration and stock level. `search` matches the item code or name.

  • semble_get_product

    One product, service or appointment type by id.

  • semble_list_invoices

    Invoices whose invoice date is inside a date range, with patient, totals and what is outstanding. Filter by status (active or cancelled) and paid_or_outstanding. Monetary amounts are in the practice currency.

  • semble_get_invoice

    One invoice by id, with its line items, totals and what is outstanding.

  • semble_list_contacts

    Contacts of the practice (referring doctors, insurers and other payors). `search` matches name, email, phone, specialty and numbers.

  • semble_list_tasks

    Practice tasks, filtered by patient, status, priority, type or assignee. Returns subject, due date, priority, assignee and patient.

  • semble_list_labels

    The labels that can be put on patients (id, title, colour). Use the id with semble_add_patient_label.

  • semble_create_task

    Creates a task in Semble assigned to a staff user (get ids from semble_list_users), optionally about a patient, with a due date, priority and type. Creates a new record each time it is called.

  • semble_update_task

    Changes a task: close or reopen it (status), reassign it, move the due date, or edit subject, priority and notes. Only the fields you pass are changed.

  • semble_add_patient_label

    Puts an existing label on a patient (label ids from semble_list_labels). Adds only; nothing is removed.

  • semble_create_patient

    Creates a new patient record (personal data) from the details you give. It does not check for an existing patient: search with semble_list_patients first to avoid a duplicate.

Common questions

Is Semble MCP by usefulapi safe?

It passed 3 of 3 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.11.3) reached the registry yesterday.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?

Live endpoint: https://semble.usefulapi.io/mcp

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://semble.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http semble https://semble.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
{

"mcpServers": { "semble": { "url": "https://semble.usefulapi.io/mcp" } } }

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Semble credentials.

Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/semble/

On first connect you will paste your Semble API token and choose Production or Sandbox. They are validated, stored per-user, and scoped to you. No keys in config files.
