Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

Read status pages and incidents; make confirmed public changes and manage individual subscribers.

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 3 of 3 passed
  • Runs on the maker’s server: what you ask it goes through their server.
  • Can do 21 things (tools) sorryapp_list_pages, sorryapp_get_page, sorryapp_list_components, sorryapp_get_component …
  • The registry lists no key to fill in.

You need

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile:

  1. Open Settings → Connectors
  2. Press Add custom connector
  3. Paste the address below and press Add
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Add2https://…3

Run this in your terminal

claude mcp add --transport http sorry-app https://sorry-app.usefulapi.io/mcp

Open in Cursor

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "sorry-app": {
      "url": "https://sorry-app.usefulapi.io/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{
  "servers": {
    "sorry-app": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://sorry-app.usefulapi.io/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

ChatGPT connects only to servers on the internet:

  1. Open ChatGPT on the web → Settings → Connectors (Apps)
  2. Press Create or Add (some plans need Developer mode under Advanced first)
  3. Paste the address below, give it a name and save
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker

These settings are generated from the maker’s registry entry. If the README says otherwise, follow the README.

What it can do

Common questions

Is Sorry MCP by usefulapi safe?

It passed 3 of 3 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

It runs in the maker’s cloud. Connect over the internet with nothing to install, but what you send passes through the maker’s servers.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.7.3) reached the registry yesterday.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?

Sorry MCP server

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://sorry-app.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http sorry-app https://sorry-app.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
{

"mcpServers": { "sorry-app": { "url": "https://sorry-app.usefulapi.io/mcp" } } }

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Sorry credentials.

Token access, billing and data

Create a token in Sorry under My Account → API Tokens. This independent connector uses customer-authorized API access, with no claimed vendor endorsement or partner status. Your vendor subscription, API eligibility, quotas and notification/SMS charges remain separate. Sorry documents 10 requests per second per API token.

The token is encrypted for authorized API calls. Requested status records and subscriber contact details reach your chosen AI client and LLM provider. Credential fields, connected-token values and Slack/Teams webhook URLs are redacted. Revoke the token in Sorry to stop access; disconnect UsefulAPI to end this connection.

Usage and billing follow this token. Rotation creates a new UsefulAPI identity and does not automatically transfer Pro. Cancel the old UsefulAPI plan before rotation or contact support before changing the token.

Public changes and notifications

Every write requires explicit confirmation. Components, notices and notice updates are public. publish=false requests suppression of the subscriber/integration broadcast; it does not make a private draft. publish=true additionally requests delivery through configured email, SMS, Slack, Teams or X channels. Vendor automations may also react to a public change, so review its content and audience.

The separate new-notice-update tool exposes no verified suppression switch and requires explicit broadcast confirmation. Adding a subscriber enables future notifications to that address or phone number. The connector does not delete resources or import/remove subscriber lists.

No vendor call is automatically replayed. After a timeout or uncertain response, check Sorry before repeating a write: duplicate calls can duplicate public records or notifications. A valid response record id is required before reporting an acknowledged change.

Notice lists support the documented page parameter, and subscriber lists support page/per_page. Template tools return the vendor-default page with documented filters; template paging and notice per_page controls are withheld pending verified request contracts. Maintenance times are sent as HH:MM:SS in the status page’s timezone.

The 21 tools were checked against current vendor documentation and local mocks. Missing/nonexistent-token checks received the vendor’s JSON401. No authenticated customer reads, real public status changes, subscriber additions or notifications were tested.
