    Validate a single EU/UK VAT identifier against VIES (EU) or HMRC (UK). Returns name + address when available.

  • vat_rate_lookup

    Look up the applicable VAT rate for a country (and optional rate type), sourced from the EU TEDB (Taxes in Europe Database).

  • vat_registration_check

    Determine whether a business needs to register for VAT in a given country, given customer type and annual revenue.

  • vat_compliance_full

    Run the full 10-question VAT compliance gap analysis. Returns compliance score (0–100), risk band, itemised findings with Article citations, and source verification per finding.

Official Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for [VAT.SUPPORT](https://vat.support) — the European Union & United Kingdom statutory VAT compliance and audit engine.

This server equips AI agents (Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, Arcade.dev, Cline) with real-time tax determinations, sub-100ms VIES entity validation, and statutory Art. 196 reverse-charge audit certificates.

🛠 Available Tools

1. reverse_charge_certificate

Evaluates statutory eligibility under Art. 196 EU VAT Directive (2006/112/EC) for cross-border B2B invoices between EU Member States.

  • Inputs: supplier_country (ISO-2), customer_country (ISO-2), customer_vat_id, service_type.
  • Output: Printable certificate with audit token, statutory article citation, and public verification URL.
2. vat_number_check

Validates European Union (EU-27) and United Kingdom (GB) VAT numbers in real-time against European Commission VIES and HMRC.

  • Inputs: vat_id (e.g. DE123456789, FR12345678901, GB123456789).
  • Output: Validity flag, registered company legal name, official address, and consultation number.
3. vat_rate_lookup

Fetches verified standard, reduced, super-reduced, and zero rates synced from the European Commission TEDB (Taxes in Europe Database).

  • Inputs: country (ISO-2), rate_type (standard | reduced | super_reduced | zero | parking).
4. vat_registration_check

Determines whether a cross-border seller is legally required to register for VAT in a destination country or qualifies for the Pan-EU One Stop Shop (€10,000 threshold).

  • Inputs: country, customer_type (B2C | B2B | MIXED), annual_revenue_eur, sale_countries, supply_types.
5. vat_compliance_full

Executes a comprehensive 10-point EU statutory VAT audit, returning a 0–100 compliance index, risk band, and Article citations.

6. vida_mandate_check

Determines statutory VAT in the Digital Age (ViDA) mandates, implementation phases (P1–P5), platform economy deemed-supplier rules, and 2026/2027/2030 digital reporting deadlines.

  • Inputs: business_type (seller | marketplace | platform | traditional), is_platform (bool), cross_border_b2b (bool), short_term_accommodation (bool), passenger_transport (bool), language (string).
7. intrastat_threshold_check

Evaluates statutory Intrastat reporting obligations for cross-border physical goods movement (dispatches and arrivals) across all 27 EU Member States and Northern Ireland.
