Overview

Description from the maker (original English)

Confidence-scored domain availability checking for AI agents via CanYouGrab.it

PopNx MCP’s three pillars

These three are never merged into one score: opinions, measurements and popularity are different things.

What you can do with it

We have not written a plain-language summary for this one yet. Below are the facts we read from the registry.

Install

Pick the AI app you use, then copy the settings.

Before you install

  • Basic checks: 1 of 1 passed
  • Runs on the maker’s server: what you ask it goes through their server.
  • The registry lists no key to fill in.

You need

  • Runs in the cloudNothing to install; it connects over the internet
  • PyPIPython’s uv installed (for the uvx command)

Which app do you use?

Pick your app above. We remember it, so next time the button says “Install in …”.

Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile:

  1. Open Settings → Connectors
  2. Press Add custom connector
  3. Paste the address below and press Add
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker
SettingsConnectors1+ Add2https://…3
https://api.canyougrab.it/mcp

Or run it on your computer

Open Claude Desktop → Settings → Developer → Edit Config, and paste this into claude_desktop_config.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "canyougrab": {
      "command": "uvx",
      "args": [
        "mcp-server-canyougrab"
      ]
    }
  }
}

Run this in your terminal

claude mcp add --transport http canyougrab https://api.canyougrab.it/mcp

Or run it on your computer

claude mcp add canyougrab -- uvx mcp-server-canyougrab

Open in Cursor

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "canyougrab": {
      "url": "https://api.canyougrab.it/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Or run it on your computer

Open in Cursor

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "canyougrab": {
      "command": "uvx",
      "args": [
        "mcp-server-canyougrab"
      ]
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

Open in VS Code

Or copy the settings yourself

Paste into .vscode/mcp.json in your project

{
  "servers": {
    "canyougrab": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://api.canyougrab.it/mcp"
    }

      "args": [
        "mcp-server-canyougrab"
      ]
    }
  }
}

Your browser asks to open the app, then the app shows the settings and asks you to confirm. Key values are left empty for you to fill in.

ChatGPT connects only to servers on the internet:

  1. Open ChatGPT on the web → Settings → Connectors (Apps)
  2. Press Create or Add (some plans need Developer mode under Advanced first)
  3. Paste the address below, give it a name and save
  4. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the maker

Common questions

Is CanYouGrab.it safe?

It passed 1 of 1 applicable basic checks. We have not read the code. Before adding a key or token, see what access the server asks for and use a key with only the permissions you need.

What keys or codes does it need?

The registry does not list a required key, though some servers ask you to sign in on first use.

Does it run on my computer or in the cloud?

Either way works: install it on your computer or connect to the cloud version.

Is it still maintained?

The GitHub repo last changed –, and the latest version (1.1.1) reached the registry 6 months ago.

Which apps can use it?

Apps that support MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. It connects by URL, so apps that accept remote MCP servers work too, such as ChatGPT in developer mode.

What can I use instead?

Billing / Subscription Flow
User → Pricing Page → Select Plan → Auth0 login

→ POST /api/billing/checkout (JWT auth) → Find/create Stripe customer (linked by auth0_sub metadata) → Stripe Checkout Session created → redirect to Stripe → User pays → Stripe fires webhook → POST /api/stripe/webhook (HMAC-SHA256 verified) → checkout.session.completed → fetch subscription → get price ID → Map price to plan → UPDATE api_keys SET plan, lookups_limit

Authentication

API Key Auth (public API consumers)
  • Format: Authorization: Bearer cyg_
  • Keys are SHA-256 hashed in the api_keys table (plaintext never stored)
  • Key prefix (cyg_XXXXXXXX...) is stored for display in the portal
  • Full key returned only once at creation time
  • Soft-delete on revocation (revoked_at timestamp, not physically deleted)
JWT Auth (portal/dashboard)
  • Auth0 tenant: dev-mqe5tavp6dr62e7u
  • Custom domain: auth.canyougrab.it
  • Algorithm: RS256 with JWKS validation (1-hour cache)
  • Audience: https://api.canyougrab.it
  • Social logins: Google, Apple (Sign in with Apple)

Domain Availability via DNS

Domain availability is checked by querying a dedicated Unbound recursive DNS resolver running on a separate DigitalOcean droplet. The worker sends NS record queries over the VPC private network and interprets the response:

| DNS Response | `avail
